Primorial May the 4th Be With You Challenge - 4th-9th May 2017
Announced is a 5 day Primorial challenge from the 4th till 9th of May, starting at 12:00 UTC and ending at 12:00 UTC.
"A long time ago in a galaxy far, far away.…"
Star Wars is an American epic space opera franchise, centered on a film series created by George Lucas. The main story arc in the films traces the rise, fall and redemption of Anakin Skywalker, mirrored by political events occurring on a galactic scale. As Anakin is seduced by the dark side, the Republic slides into despotism and war; when Anakin reclaims the Jedi values of peace and justice, the evil Empire that supplanted the Republic is overthrown by the Rebel Alliance.
The strong appeal of the Star Wars story probably accounts for its enduring popularity; it has also been postulated that this popularity is based on nostalgia. Many Star Wars fans first saw the films as children, and the revolutionary (for the time) special effects and simple, Manichean story made a profound impact.
May 4 is celebrated as Star Wars Day, an easy pun on the catchphrase "May the Force be with you". The following day, May 5, has come to be called "Revenge of the Fifth", a play on Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith. On this day, fans join the "Dark Side" by celebrating the Sith Lords from the Star Wars series.
The largest known Primorial prime is 1098133# - 1 found in March 2012 by James P. Burt, a Primegrid searcher who's, "Looking for Primes :)". Leading edge of the Primorial prime search now up to 2,510,533 on both the plus and minus side.
More about the Primorial prime search can be found here. News and infos about the PRPNet client can be found here.
To take part, you have to activate the following lines in prpclient.ini:
server=PRS:100:1:prpnet.primegrid.com:12008
Remember you also need to run the "install", "update" and "start" batch file for the appropriate number of cores on your PC. Give it a go before the challenge to iron out any problems.
Stats will be available 15 minutes after the start at the well known place here.
All previous PRPNet challenge stats can be found here.
May the Force be with you!

That prime is also the only known primorial prime still on the top 5000 (currently ranked 2032nd).
We are testing much larger numbers now, of course. For any prime P not under 2303867, the number P# has more than one million decimal figures, so we are searching for megaprimes here!
