Looks like it is going to be very close race with the Germans again.

Yes indeed, "we" are used of being "close" to the Germans and had trouble with them before ...
Go Aggie !!!

The World Cup Challenge is over, good job everyone !
Despite the heat and the fears competion from CNT and last but not least 'The Dutch Power Cows' ("even mijn koetje te grazen zetten" - you know it's translation don't you :)
Go AtP!

EDIT: competition (the mistake was unintended, LOL)

...its getting mighty hot in the garage, but its chugging along!

How Hot is mighty Hot ? ( > TJunction ?)
No burn-in test is better for my new avx2 capable i5 (DDR4) laptop (i bought yesterday) than a primegrid challenge !!! Maybe it will suffer a meltdown ... :)

it's about 90F in the garage, and just measured 106F at the fan outlets on the server... core temps are not getting higher than mid 70s C...

Wow! Almost too HOT to numbercrunch in the (east of the) US :
https://weather.com/maps/tendayforecast
From Kansas City to New York it looks like a hot bunch of patato's (sorry for the expression) Global warming or is it a normality for this season !?
cooler heads will prevail...

Monday is supposed to be a real scorcher here. I have everything running right now (not that this is a lot), but may have to shut down Sunday night or Monday morning.

Looks like I'm not even going to make it to Monday. Today is going to be almost as hot as Monday, and unlike the last week, it seems to be shaping up to be a more humid day. Everything's set to NNW. That's it for me, at least until it cools down a bit.

Indeed, turn them off before the heat kills the cpu's...
In Belgium today, we had a bit of luck with the weather going to 20°C/68°F and increasing windspeed just enough to provide cooling when opening several windows and letting a couple of (real) mice in, but that's another topic :)
Go Aggie!

Ok, let's see if the Xeons are any good... might open an extra window before I deploy them!

it will be rather a must than a might ...
These Xeons are hot-stuff :)

On an energy per work done basis the Haswell one is ok. The other is Sandy Bridge, and that's not a great use case but I'll make the exception for the short term. Windows wasn't too smart about running two sockets though, it put 3 tasks on one CPU and one on the other. Once I disabled HT it then managed to sort itself out with two on each. I'm trying to keep below 4 cores per task as it doesn't scale well above that.

Now, do I dust off the dual cores and put them on the job too? Temps are actually manageable thanks to the recent weather (cloudy).

Dust off the dual Cores too, just as i threw in a Dual CPU Xeon5150 DC SMP
at midday because the battle is fears and with Aggie in fourth place, we need all the firepower we can get ...
Go Aggie !!!

Go Aggie!

I was just checking on ya.. you got a pack right behind you but you are keeping them at bay.

These Czechs are playing hardball... (and are masters in CPU-Overclocking!)
So more coal was put on the SR5-Fire... (R900-> 4 Socket CPU's-SMP->16 cores)
Go Atp!
