Can I ask why this port is set at 4 hours deadline
http://prpnet.mine.nu:12000/all.html

But this port is set at 18 hrs
http://prpnet2.mine.nu:12000/all.html

They are both for the proth ports. Its just that when the second port is empty or my computer cant get WU from it it gets work from the first but as its an old computer its slow and will miss the dealine.

Can they both be 18 hrs?

Many Thanks

Ian

Ok this may have been answered but my feeble brain cannot understand it.

Do we test all the primes we find here at PG to see if they fit into any other prime category i.e if a prime is found under SGS do we test that particular number to see if it is also a GFN or PPS etc.

This is slightly different to my original question of testing all primes starting a 1 as I now undertsand that is not feasible.

JPaul,

I noticed you're running some prpnet (+2 proth primes) and even some w/u's over at NPLB.

That's hardcore for a new member's second day.

Neo

I have been a "big" prime searcher for years, but not so much with PrimeGrid since the TPS & APS searches.

Prpnet is new to me, but much like LLRNet which I have run for years. LLRnet is restricted to primes of the form k*b^n and i have grown tired of them, so prpnet is right of my alley.

A wily veteran in our midst. Nice. As you've probably noticed, the point conversion from prpnet over to boinc trickles in over time, if that matters to you at all. As part of the initiation process (hazing) at AtP, we ask all new members to contribute 14M prpnet points to Port 121, (AKA Ian Smith's Port). The alternative which is equally acceptable to the team, and preferred by most, is to do whatever the heck you want, and have fun doing it.

Good luck. Didn't I see your name on the front page of Primegrid the other day? Did you nail a top 5000 prime?

C,
You crack me up man, you walk all over me on that port and I smile while you do it because you are a team member.
I may have laid the groundwork but you are the master builder

Congratulations Ian. Hopefully the sceptre, orb, and sash arrived in time for your day.

Do you monitor the "user of the day" regularly? For all I know I might have UOTD in the past and never noticed.

Gary,
Received a email from primegrid saying I was User of the day. I am slightly mad but I dont check it EVEY day. sometimes I give myself Sundays off!
