Mac Pro Running Primegrid
(Message 71523)

Just eyeing up the new Mac Pros which are to be released in the new year.
I realise they are very pricey, but I can justify the cost for business purposes. However, I was wondering how fast they would be for running primegrid.
Would the AMD FirePro's crunch GPU tasks?

GPU tasks

The SOB's run on the CPU with the GPU idle. I need to d/l GPU tasks.
Are any of the tasks (even from projects other than PrimeGrid) in high priority mode? Are any PrimeGrid tasks, even CPU tasks, currently suspended? Those are some of the not-so-obvious reasons why BOINC may inhibit downloading more tasks.
YES!
I had suspended some of the SOB tasks, to avoid running them with hyperthreading. I restarted them and d/ling started immediately.
Thank you.

My laptop is not d/ling any GPU tasks. Is this my problem or the server?
Your laptop seems to have not downloaded anything (CPU or GPU) since December 3rd. Since nothing's changed on the server, and the server's sending out hundreds of thousands of tasks each day, my guess would be it's something on the laptop.
Thanks. Will reset after it finishes some SOB tasks.

Getting more than I expected
(Message 65189)

Is it increasing above the time it's taking to complete the tasks?
Yes. One of my machines is now reporting initial completion times of 20 hours to complete a CUDA PPS 1.39 Sieve. Actual completion time is around 25 minutes.
The estimated completion times have increased from 8 hrs to 20 hours in around 2 weeks. Taking this to it's logical conclusion, the estimated completion times will become so large that my queue will become empty.
The beauty of BOINC is that if this becomes a big issue, I will switch to another project.

This has been fixed as per another thread.
Not on any of my machines????
I don't know, why are you asking me?
I'm not asking you anything. Just a statement to let everyone know that the problem clearly is not fixed.
Actually, it's worse than I thought. The estimated completion time for my cuda tasks is increasing. Therefore, my queue is getting smaller and smaller. Not good given that my internet connection is very poor ATM.
I think I may to attach to another project to address this. C'est la vie.

Huge Tasks
(Message 65091)

Michael has put a temporary fix in so the tasks are reporting correct times again.
This fix is not working for me. On the machine I am posting this from, the cuda tasks report an initial completion time of 11 hours, but actually finish in 50 minutes. The initial times do not reduce as I report more results.
Could be a BOINC problem.
