Some accident inbred ****s have smashed the rear window of my mum's new car. To say that is the last straw for her & the place she has lived in for the past 33 years (& was my home for 21 of those) is now putting it very lightly. The quicker she can love the better.

Don't live in Grimsby. We are done with the place.

Very sorry to hear that :( The bad news is it can really happen anywhere in the UK which is in my opinion an island of yobs. You won't even get the expected peace and quiet in the west country because the young people have nothing to do (although I used to go over Dartmoor and search out stone age ruins every weekend) apart from cause mischief.

There is ALWAYS light at the end of the tunnel.
Might be just a bloody long tunnel is all.

Does anyone have any good recommendations for literature regarding prime numbers?

John Derbyshire "Prime Obsession"
Paulo Ribenboim "The New Book of Prime Number Records"
David Wells "Prime Numbers"

For starters :)

Tomorrow we have interior solar conjunction with Venus being less than 10 degrees away from the Sun while showing a gorgeous 1% crescent phase. I have pristine transparency right now and I will calibrate everything later today for a run at Venus tomorrow midday with my TEC Mak-Cas (5000mm focal length) and an IR Pass filter (850nm) to maximize contrast.

Does an interior solar conjunction mean the Sun is this side of Venus? Sorry :)

When I die I want to die peacefully in my sleep like my grandad not screaming like the passengers on his bus.

Bob Monkhouse

That is number one together with his "You're not laughing now joke" that Farage stole for the EU meeting post the Brexit vote.

Glad I read Tim's first post closely this time. Texas is not eastern US but the coastline would be on the east side of Texas. Been to Tampa on vacation. While it is a nice town, they roll up the sidewalks at 6:00 pm and the beaches are only so-so. I think I posted about a restaurant where the average age of the clients was around 90. It is an old folks town.

I grew up not very far from a port called Harwich from which one can get ships to Europe and a seaside town called Clacton which has a lot of retired people. There was a railway poster with the headline "Harwich For The Continent". It was regularly defaced with the words "... and Clacton for the incontinent."

I lived in Clacton for a year before going to New Zealand for 2 years. Became addicted to slot machines (age 12) which was cured by going to NZ which didn't have any :)
