been participating in the challenge but my name isn't mentioned on the list of participants.

You are crunching WUs that were download before the challenge started, so:

Credits: Yes (after the WUs are validated).
Challenge points: No.

well sense i screwed up on the start of the challenge i guess I'll just sit this one out, and just restore my old settings

my computer just downloaded primgrid_llr_5.06 and now every time I restart boinc or reboot my computer it locks up. this machine runs win ME and has 160 M of ram.
Please help.

Win9x platform (this includes WinMe) is not supported by LLR application. You should try unsetting preference to run test apps for now, and resetting project (if BOINC locks up immediately without allowing you to do that, try deleting primegrid_llr_wrapper_5.06_windows_intelx86.exe from projects/www.primegrid.com directory in your BOINC installation. This will give you some time until it is redownloaded by BOINC again).

Hope this helps.

I was afraid of that. I dont suppose that I can limit which host can do llr as I have other hosts that could contribute ??

never mind i found what i needed

For those of you with win9x and willing to help to solve the 0 cpu time problem I'm providing a new application with manual installation instructions for it.

  • Download http://www.primegrid.com/rytis/primegen_5.11_windows_intelx86.exe.
  • Make sure BOINC is not running primegen units. If it is, exit BOINC.
  • Put the downloaded file to c:\Program Files\boinc\projects\www.primegrid.com\ (or equivalent on your system), overwriting the existing file.
  • Start BOINC if closed, make PrimeGrid get some work, crunch it and see if it fixes the CPU time problem. Oh, and let me know about the results ;)

Now go try it :D

no change still get the same problem

I have a large amount of units with zero time and zero claimed credit whats going on with the client not keeping track of elapsed time.??

It's a Win95/98/ME problem.

I'm seeing lots of reports of this on the other boards.

I don't know why it does it, but it seems to be common with those OS-es.

HTH

well they need to fix it or people will be getting only 1/2 credit for all these units.
I run seti and Einstien both with no problem on this machine.
