Pushed and got my Ruby badge, very pleased!

A belated thank you from me as well. PrimeGrid has set the bar for well-administered and well-run projects. Your guidance and leadership will be hard to replicate.

If I'm setting up multithreading, and I'm wanting to do it for multiple projects, apparently the following works:

<app_config> <app_version> <app_name>llrSR5</app_name> <cmdline>-t 4</cmdline> <avg_ncpus>4</avg_ncpus> </app_version> <app_version> <app_name>llrCUL</app_name> <cmdline>-t 4</cmdline> <avg_ncpus>4</avg_ncpus> </app_version> </app_config>

I'm guessing that for each app just keep adding the <app_version> block?

Hooray! That's quite exciting :)
5) Message boards : Number crunching : Badges - Full Sets! (Message 106086)
Posted 2269 days ago by Profile paleseptember
Given that the opening post was last modified 7.5 years ago, PrimeGrid has changed a bit in that time; some projects have wrapped up, there have been new projects.

If someone started today, how many badges are achievable?

For example, according to the Badges info thread, CW Sieve isn't achievable anymore, and GCW Sieve isn't listed.

Running just my home computer (i5-6400 and a 1060-6GB) I found a GFN-16 prime two days ago. Entered the top-5000 at number 1900.

Luck helps.

It's mid-summer here, and I accidentally clicked BOINC instead of TeXworks (they're next to each other on my menu bar). I saw the announcement, and figured it would be a good test of my new computer.

I'm running an i5-6400 with 8GB of RAM. The tasks seem to being completed in about 75 minutes each. So that's good, I guess? I've looked at some other people's computers and tasks (thank you for not hiding them in your profile!) and that's a few minutes slower than an i5-4570k, for example.

Anyhow, the challenge is proving that my cooling is working!
8) Message boards : Project Staging Area : 2015 PRPNet May Challenge (Message 85542)

Run-times will vary wildly from box to box, of course. But as one data point, my nearly 5 year old Macbook Air (core 2 Duo) looks to be running them in about 18 hours. No doubt my IB i7 would be much faster, but I haven't experimented there yet (it's busy).

Cheers for the data point! I will manage to participate this challenge in that case. (I messed up the start times for the last event...)

Is there some indication of the approximate length of time that a task will take? I fear that my poor i5 650 may not be up to the task....
10) Message boards : Number crunching : World Expo Challenge (Message 85074)

Oops. Messed up the time conversion, and what, uh, day it was. I now have three WUs that are scheduled to finish in ~150 hours, which means that when the second lot are crunched, the challenge is over.

Brilliant :P
