I hope this isn't too far off topic.
If possible and not too difficult to do, does anyone reckon treating CPU and GPU stats for the same sub-project in 'Tasks returned in last 24 hours' as 2 separate items?

The issue for me is that if I want a buffer of tasks - my internet connection has been dodgy - then I am limited by the initial estimated duration.
On 1 computer, GPU tasks are overestimated by 23 times.
On 2 computers, GPU tasks are overestimated by 70 times.
So 7 days - computer connecting once every 7 days (which I understand to be the maximum for this project as I tried 14 days and got a really impressive red warning which in hindsight I kind of wish said "You broke it!" because I think that would be funny) - which gives me 0.3 days (for 23x) and 0.1 day (for 70x)
As the estimation for CPU is more accurate, or underestimated (underestimated in duration being manifested by how many more tasks I receive than desired), it is slightly (only very slightly) more challenging to get not too much CPU tasks in the buffer while maxing the buffer of GPU tasks.
On 3 computers I am running both GPU and CPU tasks and I don't know if running both affects estimated run times.

Landline internet has been down for 16 hours.
I actually want to use my phone for something other than home internet connection.
I thought I could download some tasks - say 0.5 day's worth.
For the CPU only computer - and boinc knows exactly how long these tasks run - I got 2 days worth.
For a GPU computer, where I have consistently returned results in 6 min, 15 sec - the initial time is 23 times this. So if I want to download half a day's worth, it will need to be 11.5 days. Except deadlines seem to be 7 days which translates as 0.3 of a day. I'm not going there. It looks like my phone will have to stay here.

I have a problem with my internet.
Not problem enough to write here.
Any ideas?
Edit: I have connected all computers with my phone - my computers now say 'no internet connection' but it works. When it was connected with my landline, my computers had 'internet connection', which seemed to work except for receiving from PG, which didn't. And yes I tried turning them off and on again, including landline.
2nd edit: I checked the NBN "An unplanned incident is affecting the network", "As a result, you may experience a partial or total loss of connectivity. Restoration is underway."

(someone can teach me the precise details)

I am also worried about saying things well and precisely. If JeppeSN has this concern, I think PG message is too worried about details. But yes, we should attempt to be factually correct. I also think there should be an attempt to think best of what people write - so we don't have to be so concerned for absolute correctness. I wonder at the meaning of The Devil In The Details....

Should DC tasks be counted into the number of tasks a user has run on the home page?
I mean, I technically ran 1/2 actual tasks of the number of SoB tasks thats shown on my home page. (meaning half of sob tasks recorded were DC)
Could this be changed to only reflect Primary tasks?

Do you mean the tasks returned in the last 24 hours?
As far as I know, for LLR2, it doesn't include DC.

How do you cool the 9960X and what temps do you get?

On the new 9960X, it is running at 50 degrees C - it hasn't gone above 55 when the weather is hot.
This is with a Corsair iCUE H150i RGB PRO XT - 3 fans water cooled.

The older 9960X now has some issues and is running in the high 60s - even though not too long ago it was running nearly as cool as the new one.
The issues are that it turns out I have a Corsair iCUE H100i RGB PRO XT - 2 fans - even though I paid for the larger model. Another issue is the MB is a bit screwy and the mosfets are overheating. And a fan on the GPU is knackered. (I'm waiting for the right moment to make a warranty claim for the GPU and then address why I have the wrong cooling)

So right now, running 4 x SR5 on each 9960X and running only 2 x SR5 on the 9980XE because if I run more it goes into the high 70s for 3 tasks and into the 80s for 4 tasks. It usually doesn't run this hot, but it will be warmer than the old 9960X (which usually sits in the low 60s). Note it isn't the number of cores running SR5 - it is the number of tasks.

Hi Nick,

Yes it was you I was referring to! :D
Your PC's with AVX-512 are really great for PG. I assume that's why you bought them? They are WAY faster than my 3950X

Guilty! I bought my 2nd computer - a 9960X - entirely for primegrid.
Initially I wasn't able to use AVX512 and comparing computer throughput, it ran not much better than the 8 core 9900K.
I remember that to get best throughput, it was better to use around 8 to 10 cores.
That all changed when AVX512 was introduced into LLR.

I initially chose the 9960X because I was considering a 9920X - I thought maybe the 9940X, but settled on the 9960X because of the extra cache.
But it left me wondering if I should have gone all out and got the 9980XE. So I got one.
It underperformed the 9960X, core for core by 15% and was hotter.

Then I got really silly and bought another 9960X confirming that it is (was) a better choice.
I say was because there are 2 or 3 projects that now test it's ability to run 2 tasks in cache at once, whereas the 9980XE should have an advantage with those 2 or 3 projects over the 9960X.
If I was to buy another intel, I would buy another 9960X (or newer AVX512 16 core if it exists). I am not going to buy any more hardware - I have already gone too far.
My 4th computer is ready to go for a real graphics card, but I am not going to go there.
