And all your 5 cards including 4070Ti doesn't beat 4090?
Alien88 has a single 4090 and he's in position 37 for the comp. I'm in position 44 although I must admit, I do use my 4070ti for a couple of hrs/day and then after the wiring melted I've lost a bit of ground there. On that basis, yes his/her 4090 beats my 1 x 4070ti, 1 x 3070ti, 2 x Radeon VII's, 1 x Vega 56, 1 x Radeon 280X (yes it's a slug) and also running 3 wu's on the CPU with my 9980XE.

I found an undervolt setting. Using that. Looks about 10sec slower but at a much lower wattage than before. Now 170W
I'll live with that.

I've decided to pull out of the comp with my 4070ti. I came home today and the pc wasn't running. The VGA light was on the motherboard suggesting an issue with the card.
Turns out the PCI-E plug had completely melted at the PSU.
I'd say where it was plugged into that slot is completely ruined so I've used a new PCI-e cable and plugged into a different slot.
Now I'm not sure if this is the PSU that can't handle to continuous wattage drawn by AP27 or just too much wattage in general. Either way, it's not great to find melted cables in your pc.
This pc is the only one that I have which uses a Cougar Gold PSU. All my others are Corsair gold/platinum but I'm pretty sure this has happened to one of my Corsair PSU's in the past also.
Anyone have a good undervolt setting for a 4070ti?

WOW.... 4090'S FTW by the looks!
People with 1 x 4090 are outcrunching all of my GPU's.
I couldn't part with AUD$2600 for a gpu though.

I'm not entirely quitting crunching but I kinda have. By that I mean I have 4 GPU's now sitting idle (or all 6 gpu's now sitting idle right this second) because I can't afford to run them like I used too.
I just can't justify the electricity usage to run BOINC. It's become too expensive.
A bit depressing really.
I'm Gen X so I was raised to not have debt or pay it down quickly. Unfortunately that's going to be many, many years away on our income. Probably when I'm around 60 the mortgage might be paid off.

Ah I'm at the other end. In my 40's, hundreds of thousands of mortgage debt and a 10yr old :D
Interest rates are really hurting as in Australia they are variable. About 6% I think.
Cost of living sucks at the moment.

Wow!!! $600/month! That's like AUD$3600/qtr! That's insane!!!
I thought my power bill was bad! Ouch.
My wife wouldn't DEFINITELY divorce me if we got that bill. LOL
I run Gold & Platinum Corsair PSU's except for 1 which has a Cougar PSU going strong. (Was a great price)
When I compare my 3070ti to my 4070ti, I won't be buying any more 3070's. The reduction in power by the 4070ti is great. I also look at CPU power usage. The old 1950X T/R is a bit of a power hog, as is the 9980XE. (But the XE is sooo good with AVX)
@Eagle - "I do consider using cloud computer cheating and I cheer for those who use their own resources to keep boinc projects running."
I won't get into this as I've spoken about it previously. Yes the project gains the most which is great. Where it falls over is when you have any sort of "competition" or "challenge"
I've moved on and contribute during the challenges but the placings are a bit irrelevant to me.
"Congrats to those that are sacrificing the most for these projects. Big boys like me and few others are fortunate enough to be financially lucky."
Yes this is true. I look at the likes of Ian&Steve.C and think.... "yeah.... that's what I'd do too if I had the coin!" :) BOINC is all about money, be it cpu/gpu, electricity costs, renting pc's etc.
Who has the deepest pockets. At least that's how I look at it from a stats point of view.
(And I don't get hung up on overall stats because that is project dependant - Bitcoin Utopia, Collatz vs anything with creditnew.)
Others will be happy just to be a part of the BOINC collective :D
But what is matter the most is the massive contribution for these projects and the end results.
This is true :)

If you are talking to me, I'd rather quit crunching than move to the dark side of renting crunching hardware.
My current bill which I got the other day is under AUD$1000 for the qtr and no air con running.
I'm just crunching less, doing a bit during the day and less at night. Not buying any new hardware.

For the price, Monkey Shoulder is a pretty smooth whisky.
I drink LOTS of whisky. :)
Talisker 10yr is one of the best imo or Balvenie.

I run all my own hardware and have cut down to 5 pc's. Electricity prices are ridiculous and really hurting my hip pocket. I've had to cut down on crunching as a consequence :(
If running everything flat out I think I was pulling around 2400W continuously. I have a 6kw solar system but it makes little difference these days (or so it feels) My last bill looked like this -
(In $AUD)
94 days supply @ 0.33c/kwh + $1.26 daily connection fee = AUD$1743.00 (USD$1147.77) or (€$1043.13)
I get 8c/kwh for solar although these buggers change me 7c/day for the privilege of putting my solar back into the grid! I put 394kWh back into the grid @ 8c = $31 credit
Long story short, my bill was $1743 for 94 days supply. (52.91kWh daily)
Horrendous! AND..... prices are continuing to rise.
Sadly because of this, I can't justify more hardware for crunching.
I have a mortgage & family to support. It makes me angry that a basic essential like electricity was privatised in Australia and is now a money making machine.... most of which arguably goes offshore.
I looked at expanding my solar but again can't justify the AUD$8000 I was quoted.
