The contest is over, the winner is clear :)
We are currently considering changing the project name, as it no longer fits our goal. However, everyhing that comes to our heads are only names such as
- WCYWOC (Why Calc Yourself When Others Can)
- YARSA (Yet Another RSA)
- HolyGrailAtHome (The best one we guess :D)
We now look at you to suggest the name - make sure it is somehow related to the project itself, the big numbers, challenges, whatever else you can think of.
We are giving 1000 credits to the one who posts the name that we choose for the project

My suggestion:
Cryptation@home
This in short plane description, through its name describes what we are working with, and testing, which is Cryptation. Just my suggestion... btw Rytis due to a virus attack on my machine, I had to perminantly remove all Boinc files, and therefor do not wait for my remaining 4 results to be returned, they will never arrive since I was attacked prior to the scheduler responding again.
Regards!

I would suggest:
Factor@home
for the following reasons:
1) It's simple and understandable (Hey - why am I the first to suggest it?)
2) The trend seems to be to use the projects names of format "noun@home"
3) Something like factoring@home is longer (without adding any information) and uses a verb
4) PerlBOINC@home is non-descriptive of what the project is currently doing and, in any case, suggests other projects might not be built on top of Perl.
5) RSA@home requires knowledge of what RSA is - and, in any case, RSA is only one possible application of factoring large numbers - whereas most people should know what "Factor" means.

But I have to and can live with it though.
You should have told us to suggest a name that is avaible for a new domain for the project. That would have helped a lot and some people would have suggested something else.

It wasn't a necessity to have an unregistered domain, but it helped. We have discussed the proposed names, and PrimeGrid has really grown on me :) It really describes the project goal - searching for primes for RSA, and if we (ever) decide to change the project goal, the name can stay, as it also means "superior", and it does not describe anything about the project :)
I think, you will start liking the name. I for example could not stand Windows Vista name when I first heard it (and believe me, it means "chicken" in Lithuanian), but a now like this name, and it really fits.
And you can still call the project m@h - this domain name will still be accessible (of course, if Willy does not decide to pull it), it will just point to the new site once it is finished.

Yeah, that sounds reasonable. I've no doubt, I'll get used to it like to WV but, you know.
Anyway, the name is not that important for me. The hardware the project gets to run 24/7 is muuuuuuuch more important, IMHO.
I'd love to see at least two weeks of constant, stable crunching (w/o daily quato does not matter). :)

Well, I think it was a great contest, with lots of brilliant ideas!
I just loved watching the list growing, it was superb fun, thanks to all for their contribution!
When I first noticed our new project name, I wasn't too much impressed, because it's not something 'spectacular'... but Rytis is right: the longer I think about it the better I like it. It really fits! We're 'prime', yeah :))

So is this project just trying to find the largest prime number, or just trying to factor the numbers for RSA (to see which ones are primes)

We are trying to get the factors of the big RSA number, there are only two, and they are primes.
