How can we find out what prime we found?

Hello Menipe
This is much a double-check race to we come to n>200k but we might
find some new primes.
Because of that I can't publish the primes before we have checked them,
If we find new primes we must get them proved.

I shall talk to John and se how to do.

Feel free to ask. I do my best to answer

Tanks for your help.

-PS i have PM’d you.

Awesome! You guys are doing a great job so far keep up the good work my friends :) Maybe after I do some more LLR TPS's I'll help out here just dunno I don't have a 64 bit and I think after reading the how to's it said something like if you didn't, then use your computer for something more productive like something already up and running, but if not PM me with your info / details :)

PS- "I shall talk to John and see how to do." I must say John knows a ton and your right hes such a nice guy he should be able to answer your questions as well my friend.

You are welcome to run LLRNet. You have no advantage to run 64 bit on
LLRnet.
It is on sieving job 64 bit is twice as fast.
When I sieve and remove 1 factor that save us 2 LLR test.
We only sieve as long sievetime is less than LLR-time*2 Now we are very deep
And 32 bit’s sieve is not less time then LLRing them. So that’s why we only
Sieve on 64 bit OS.
LLRnet is 32 bit so come on.

Is there an estimate when we will be able to run any of the new projects within BOINC?

I got this up and running this evening on 1 of my main computers while the other computers do LLR TPS's for this week but I will be having this main computer run the help needed here for a long time so you can count on me guys :)

Just 1 question if I close the program while its doing a WU from the task tray at the bottom then come back and launch the .exe to run it again will it finish that WU first and start right where it left off?? Thanks a ton guys, we have a great community here!!

John M. Johnson

Also lastly if we find a prime will it be one of the top 5000 from this PPS +1 prime search and if not can we still get credit for it as it would be new possibly??

It starts where you stoped it.

For now we are not going in on Top 5000 List We have to reach i higher n first ( for now n=116k)

But even if its not on the top 5000 list it's still a new prime right? and if so it matters does it not? So it should be reported and credited to the finder right? or no? Thanks a ton bro for answering our questions you are a great help and proof that our community works together to help each other. I'm liking this command line type LLRNet Console personally :) So I plan to run it for a long long time!

There is no such thing as a list of all known primes as this would take up way too much harddisk space, that's why only the top5000 are listed and credited. I've also read (though I can't remember where, so I don't know if it's true) that it is faster to calculate small primes yourself than to read them from disk, so there's no use in storing them.

If that were the case, whats the point in doing this then since your saying "it is faster to calculate small primes yourself" But something tells me were testing this before it goes into the main stream projects and to do much more. I think theres a big purpose isn't there Lennart?

PS' I didn't mean that in any bad way or anything bro :)

We are going to higher n and there we will come to TOP5000
We are doing some double-check now for primes already found.

Have I found any new ones? Is there a way you could show how many units those prime finders crunched? I know you have to do it by hand so I don't want it to be too complicated. I was just being the curious cat..

edit: and you have john on your list twice..

"We are doing some double-check now for primes already found."
And ones that might have been missed but yeah your right bro :)

Say any chance you could tell me aprox how many units those prime finders I have crunched purdy please :) Thanks a ton bro for getting me into this on one of my main computers. I just got another computer from Newegg and put it together today, tomorrow I need to hit a local store and get a mouse and keyboard and then that will be yet another computer to have help :) I think I'll start that one out on this +1 prime helping before it gets to the main projects open to the public like say LLR TPS and such. :) So I'm a bit happy this evening!

PS - so far My N = 117477. So we are churning away!! Cheers!

Still kind of confused where one can see the numbers that someone has already gone through.

I sent my port to 500 to work on those numbers, but I am not quite sure where to check to see if I have found a prime or to see how many numbers I have checked already.

You can look at your lresults.txt file to see the numbers that you have checked, & search for exclamation marks [!] to see the primes.
I hope that was what you were asking....

I do not know because it has been calculated twice. Even in my logs are marked:

Hello Tommy.

There is some small bug in LLRNet . We are working to fix that.
I hope we soon have that running.

Here's a few more. The last 2 were done when the servers went crazy that night a few days ago so I dunno whats up with them. Junk or not but the 659 one and the 427 are at least good. :)

659*2^128379+1 is prime! Time: 75.127 sec.
427*2^129958+1 is prime! Time: 75.413 sec.
131105*2^7+1 = 16781441 is prime! (trial divisions)
131106*2^33+1 is prime! Time: 1.767 ms.

Edit: This also was the night I installed the new .lua and llr file but everything seams to be running fine. Once it finds a prime that isn't like the last 2 there I'll know for sure the files are not the cause. Best bet is something with the server that night. Curious what John or Lennart or Rytis think.

Doesn't it kinda defeat the purpose of having your computer report the results if you're just gonna post them here yourself? ;)

I stopped actually until I got 2 odd ones that need answering. No need to be hostile. And I thought it might just make it a bit easier because and I pull this from a PM with the mods "I know he has midterms for the next two weeks so I don't have an ETA on..."

No primes for me yet, though I am doing the Sophie ones on port 500 so it might take a little bit to find one.

Some issue on LLRNet

I have a delay on the result post !!!

LLRNet write 5 different files.

Result.txt

If you compare primes.txt on primetime.txt you see they dont match

Procknp.txt
A dubblecheck file to see that all pairs out is coming in as result

Just for doing the things easyer we did the Primetime file !
Right now it dont write all info in Primetime file.
We are investigate why !!

All info is comming out sooner or later to the stats anyway !!!!!

It just take some more job and more time.

We hope to cure this problem soon.

This is why it take a little longer time to get the results on StatsPage

!!! No info is missing !! just that it takes longer time. !!!

We have reach higher n value now, and can not expect primes so frequently as before.
Also the FFT len have increased and it means that every pairs take longer time = less primes/day.

Where can I find stats about the current projects? Especially I'm interested in
port 5000: Generalized Woodall; b=13 (n*b^n-1)
port 6333: Generalized Cullen; b=13 (n*b^n+1)

Not sure any of the Woodall or Cullen in LLRNet have been found yet, that would be a mod question I think. Sorry my friend
