On the User Statistics page it says that sm5ymt has discovered 27 probable primes.

However on the user primes page this is not mentioned.

How does this work?

That's a really, good question.

If you look at the server status page, it shows the minimum n as 700000. Both of the primes are above that.

The database has no information below 700000.

We do have some logs that go back further, however, and those logs show those 27 primes, as well as three others from other people.

What I don't know is whether those 30 primes were actual discoveries or simply finding already known primes while double checking ranges that were already searched.

For that we can look at the top 5000 primes list of top Primorial primes. https://primes.utm.edu/top20/page.php?id=5. Except for the top 2 primes on the list, all of the primes were found before PrimeGrid existed. It's safe to assume that all those other primes were merely rediscoveries.
