The first benchmark for my AP task CPU times is in.
The AMD FX 8350 came in at 105,321 sec. About 29.25 hrs. Not too shabby. Not great, but not terrible considering it is an AMD chip.

Mobile i3 and an Intel Q6700 aren't finished yet. Results on those next.

For the i3 3217U (2 cores 4 threads) the two tasks I ran took 162,951 sec and 167,135 sec. 45.26hrs and 46.43hrs. This was run using single cores on 2 of the 4 threads so 1 task per core times 2 cores. So figure just under 2 days per task.

Intel(R) Xeon(R) CPU E5-1650 v3 @ 3.50GHz (6 core Haswell)
61,707 seconds (running one unit on each of six cores)
EDIT: For reference, that is about 25% the speed of a single GTX 1060 6GB GPU (i.e., one would need 24 such CPU cores to match the daily output of a single GTX 1060).
EDIT #2: Adding a couple of additional CPUs here as they come in...
Intel(R) Xeon(R) CPU E5-1620 v3 @ 3.50GHz (4 core Haswell)
71,745 seconds (running one unit on each of four cores)
Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-4790 CPU @ 3.60GHz (4 core Haswell)
72,209 seconds (running one unit on each of four cores)
Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-2600 CPU @ 3.40GHz (4 core Sandy Bridge)
80,338 seconds (running one unit on each of four cores)
Intel(R) Xeon(R) CPU E3-1270 @ 3.40GHz (4 core Sandy Bridge)
82,734 seconds (running one unit on each of four cores)
Intel(R) Xeon(R) CPU X5677 @ 3.47GHz (4 core first-generation i7-9xx equivalent Xeon)
93,835 seconds (running one unit on each of four cores)
*Note: this CPU has a larger cache than a comparable i7.*

Macbook - Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-4870HQ
Running 4 cores at once. Avg time for 4 units is 58,133 seconds. Not too bad for a cpu. I have 4 other systems I'm running to see how they do.

Dell Alien laptop - Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-4210M CPU @ 2.60GHz
Running 2 cores at once 65,231 seconds.

Good results so far, not terrible CPU performance considering. For the challenge you can get several additional tasks with CPUs.
For my Intel Q6700 on Linux 1 task came back at 167,511 (46.53hrs).
I really do need some new CPUs (upgrade coming eventually) but for now working with what I have.
The fastest AP CPU for me personally is the AMD FX 8350 (approx 105,000) with a near tie between the 2 core 4 thread generation i3 mobile CPU and the Q6700 (approx 167,000 sec).
Intel(R) Xeon(R) CPU E5-1650 v3 @ 3.50GHz (6 core Haswell)

That's nice to see a CPU is only a 1/4 the speed of a 1060 if all cores are used on that E5-1650. Each task on each core taking on average 17.14hrs. 3 day challenge that's an extra 3 tasks per core.

Threadripper 1950X: Projected runtime is 19-20 hours (that's my own extrapolation, not the client's). Hyperthreading on. I'm running 25 tasks in tandem, so that's the equivalent of one task completing in less than 50 minutes (or 29 tasks per day; better than a GTX 960, not quite as good as a 970).

That's excellent !
My GTX 1060 3GB takes around 42 min to crunch an AP27 task.

It gets better. My estimate was a bit high, they actually came in at 18.4 hours. Noice. If I had all 32 threads running, that would amount to 35 minutes per task.
i5-3470S: 20.8 hours
