Currently, I have two monitors plugged into a GTX 1060 3GB.
This the GPU I use to crunch GFN, AP27 and PPS-Sieve WUs.
So it feeds the monitors and also does the crunching.
The iGPU (an Intel HD530 @i7-6700) is currently disabled in the BIOS.

What if I enable the iGPU and connect the monitors into it ?

Would there be any gain in crunching GPU WUs if I connect my monitors into the iGPU and leave the GTX1060 exclusively for crunching ?
Would the use of the iGPU to feed the monitors have any impact on CPU crunching times?

A smidgen, assuming that you aren't using your GPU for anything else concurrently, but in my experience, it won't be much. Depending on the subproject, you'll gain a much easier to use screen with less lag and stuttering.

Would the use of the iGPU to feed the monitors have any impact on CPU crunching times?

Maybe. It's about cooling and memory. That iGPU uses power which adds to the heat output from your cores. If you're using a quality aftermarket cooler on your CPU (which every cruncher should!) then the added heat won't cause thermal throttling or lower the core turbo speeds. The other consideration is memory. The iGPU will be using main memory as VRAM, and depending on what you're doing with the iGPU, if it needs memory access, it will take bandwidth away from whatever your crunching might be using. Multithreading or small LLR tasks reduce main memory use to a good degree and my iGPU machine (7700k) really doesn't see any noticeable penalties, but it also runs very fast RAM.

From my testing, if you're running LLR (and especially the bigger ones), the use of the iGPU will hamper your CPU performance due to memory bandwidth limitations. You'd be better off leaving the monitors and hardware accelerated apps (chrome, for instance) to your 1060.

But feel free to test yourself, it's always the best way to know for sure. In fact, I encourage it, as both my hardware and our software were different than what we have today. But from my experience, the iGPU is just not worth it.

CPU cooling is not a problem now.
I removed the standard Intel CPU fan and got a liquid cooler a couple of months ago.

I'm not sure if my RAM is fast.
I'll test to see what impact, if any, I get on CPU crunching.

Thank you, Grebuloner and Rafael !

I'm not sure if my RAM is fast.

Assuming you're running a 2x8 / 4x4 configuration, you're halfway there to having fast RAM, as you have Dual Channel and are extremely likely / guaranteed to have dual rank as well. The other part of being fast comes from RAM overclocking, but that's only possible on a Z170 or Z270 board, which I doubt applies to you.

I'll test to see what impact, if any, I get on CPU crunching.

Remember to run apps manually and in a controlled environment as live BOINC tasks are extremely unreliable. If it helps, Prime95 with the right parameters is an easy way to test LLR performance.

No CPU overclocking here.
The mobo is an ASUS B150M-C/BR.
I remember seeing overclock settings in the BIOS, but not sure if this motherboard would allow them.
Anyway, it's an i7-6700, which I understand is not overclockable (wish I had the K version :) )

Indeed.
I've noticed how crunch times greatly vary for different WUs of the same type.

Right, I forgot to add the GB part. As in, 2 sticks of 8gb (2x8GB).

CPUz says Channel # = Dual but Ranks = Single

Oh. That's a shame, most 8gb sticks are dual rank, but I guess yours are single... it's not something you should worry about, and it's usually useless. It's just that for LLR in particular, dual rank helps a bit.

I was actually talking about OCing the RAM, not the CPU. Regardless, your mobo doesn't support overclocking on either.

If we're talking DDR4, most 8GB modules are single rank these days. Early on some were dual rank, but with increasing density at the chip level the need to have dual rank to reach higher module capacities has gone down.
