Question for the group:
I have been experiencing all kinds of problems the past week getting started with the latest challenge and it all stems with a seemingly missing VCOMP110.DLL.
I have installed the 2010, 2012, 2013 and 2015 versions of Visual C++ Redistributable for Visual Studio from the Microsoft website (64-bit versions). Furthermore, the DLL is present in my windows/system32 folder.
It seems the problem is with the DLL not being registered in the DLL registry. I have tried to register it using regasm but it comes back with some error about an improper path.
Has anyone experienced this nonsense? Any idea how best to resolve it?
As an aside, would installing Visual C++ Studio itself resolve this problem? The vendor offers a fully-functional demo with a 90-day evaluation. I have no interest in running the software itself but I was wondering if this is a backdoor to solving this problem.
