I have just posted a new set of prpclient packages to http://uwin.mine.nu/PRPNet/. The client version is the same but updated versions of genefer are included, and the ESP and MEGA ports which have been moved to BOINC are removed from the master_prpclient.ini file.

If you are crunching on the GFN ports, I recommend you upgrade as you should find improved performance (except for CUDA and x87 transforms, which remain the same).

As always, post any problems or questions here, or drop me a PM.

Cheers

- Iain

The new geneferocl application version is definitely not faster (using the -b test numbers are almost identical), and it estimates to be 20 to 30 minutes slower on real prpnet work using GTX 650 Ti (Windows Vista x64 with 344.11 driver).

Hi Scott,

Thanks for the report. I know that before you had said the new code was faster on GTX 645, but might be slower or faster on GTX 660 depending on N! Also, Yves reported a slowdown on a 7xx card. However, most people using AMD cards got a speedup.

So I'm not really sure what to do about this long-term, unless we can develop a better way for the code to auto-tune itself to each individual card.

What I would suggest for now is that you just test on your own hardware and choose between the 3.2.5 and 3.2.3 versions. 3.2.4 only included changes related to the CPU code.

Cheers

- Iain
