In my profile on PrimeGrid, I enabled all subprojects (i.e. I made a tick on each subproject in the CPU-column). However the BOINC Manager keeps displaying the message "PrimeGrid: Notice from server" and then something like "No work available for the chosen applications. Please check your project preferences on the project website." Also it doesn't seem as if BOINC ran out of work, since it is processing WUs on all my cores, so I wonder why it keeps displaying this message. It is not as if this were kind of a problem, it is simply kind of confusing and I wonder why this is.

PSA has nothing to do with the Boinc side of Primegrid. If you want to crunch for PSA then you need the PRPnet-client from http://pgllr.mine.nu/PRPNet/. ;)

In my profile on PrimeGrid, I enabled all subprojects (i.e. I made a tick on each subproject in the CPU-column)......

I suspect this is the root cause. You just had a 321 Prime LLR time out. Those WUs have a 10 day timeout period. Over that time you were crunching Woodhall LLRs (takes you 4 days), and other 321 Prime LLRs. It never had a chance to get round to the timed out WU. With such diverse crunch times, together with the widely varying timeout periods, I suspect that BOINC's pediction mechanism is having a hard time :)

I suggest you go to your preferences, and set it to accept WUs from only two Sub Projects, that way you will get WUs if one runs dry. The Riesel's and 321 Prime would seem a good choice for you if you have no personal preference as their completion times are (fairly) similar. The Woodhall's are taking you 4 days, so if you dont have a personal reason for doing those, it would seem Riesel and 321 Prime LLRs would do the trick.

Then go to your BOINC Client, and set your cache for :
"Connect about every" to zero days
"Additional Work Buffer" to 3 Days

You have got five WUs left to go, and with 4 day Woodhalls in the queue, one or two will time out. So keep the settings as above, and after those five either get crunched or timeout, it will settle down. Until that happens you may still get those Messages, but they should stop in a few days with those new settings.

If you have a preference for other Sub Projects post again, and we can look at your queue and Cache settings for you, for those projects.

Regards
Zy
