How about making weak account keys public on every user page?
Then if anyone is feeling charitable they can contribute crunching
anonymously to whomever they like.
I suppose the same thing could be accomplished by having a sticky
forum where people post their weak account key and credit goals.
The problem with that is that some people could mistakenly post their
main account key instead of the weak account key.

No, I would not like others contributing for me and skewing my personal statistics.

Don't want people connecting systems to my account that I have to deal with. From simply different capabilities (how many threads for a given subproject, for example), to errors, I would have systems on my account that I have to figure out, and that I can't do much with.
If somebody wants to help me out, they can ask me.

No! Like others have said: My account, My computers, My control.

Nice idea, but definitely not going to happen. As others have said, there's lots of reasons why people wouldn't want other people running computers on their account.

Pretty much unanimous, from the sample that responded. Fair enough.
I'll throw the remaining time on this cloud V100 + 8 thread AVX-512
at a DYFL & SOB task on my own account.
I don't wanna pay $1320 a month for this monster;
so it's costing 40% more per hour with an hourly rate.
I received a credit of $270 for signing up for a cloud account.
Less than a day of computing left on that amount.

Since I'm looking for the most "bang for the buck", where is that hosted? And what CPU is that?
I'm currently with an i9-10920 for 75 € / month at active-servers. Is it the GPU that makes the cloud server so expensive or the CPU?

Yes, the GPU makes it expensive.
Hosted at OVH, Beauharnois (Montreal). OVH is a company started in France, now has 30+ datacenters around the world.
Beauharnois datacenter is less than 1 km from a 1900 MW hydroelectric power station with the same name,
which I clearly remember visiting when I was around 5 years old.
The datacenter is at a former aluminum refinery supplied from that power station.
They happily charge CAD$2.61 (~ 1.80 €) per hour for the 1X GPU public cloud.
The CPU is a Xeon Silver 4214 CPU @ 2.20GHz. They also offer 2X and 4X GPU.
It makes more economic sense for me to buy a high-end desktop GPU.
The power rates I pay are nearly as cheap as Hydro Quebec and BC Hydro.
I wrote to the Canadian Prime Minister's Office a few months ago with a suggestion
to create "Euro zones" in some datacenters which would have regulatory alignment
with European laws so that compute loads could seamelessly migrate from Europe to Canada,
the idea being to reduce electrical demand in Europe. All I heard back was an automatic
"thanks for your feedback/suggestion", which was likely reviewed by a politico, tallied under
"voter's policy interest is economic", and then ignored. It's either over their head or too complex
to implement (legally; technically it's simple).

Less than a day of computing left on that amount. Ouch! That can't be economical. Renting is always more expensive than buying. Why not get your own computer?

It was an experiment. I knew it would not be economical in the long run.

It was an experiment. I knew it would not be economical in the long run. So these people running bitcoins on them, doubly pointless.
