1) Message boards : Problems and Help : NEW GT 630 384 Cuda Core GK208 GPU Won't Fetch Work (Message 69158)
Posted 2923 days ago by Tex1954
Had to re-install Windoz and now it's working. Seems old setups and such messed up from ATI files and too many un-nstalls/re-installs...

Working now!

Thanks!

I have a NEW GK208 GPU GT630 with 384 CUDA Cores and it won't fetch work no matter what I do.

This is in the messages at init:

Win7-2600K

12 9/14/2013 12:23:22 PM CUDA: NVIDIA GPU 0: GeForce GT 630 (driver version 326.80, CUDA version 5.50, compute capability 3.5, 2048MB, 1958MB available, 692 GFLOPS peak)
13 9/14/2013 12:23:22 PM OpenCL: NVIDIA GPU 0: GeForce GT 630 (driver version 326.80, device version OpenCL 1.1 CUDA, 2048MB, 1958MB available, 692 GFLOPS peak)

This is what happens when it tries to fetch work:

Win7-2600K

186 PrimeGrid 9/14/2013 12:45:44 PM Requesting new tasks for NVIDIA
187 PrimeGrid 9/14/2013 12:45:45 PM Scheduler request completed: got 0 new tasks

I've tried all known good drivers and also the latest Beta drivers and detached/attached without success.

HELP!

4) Message boards : Problems and Help : 1.07 Genefer (cuda32_13) Errors under Ubuntu LINUX 11.10 (Message 58378)
Posted 3256 days ago by Tex1954
Okay, I reprogrammed the GTX 580 FLASH to use min 90% fan speed, drop the temps to 68c with that and also gave it an overclock and dropped the memory clock to 1716... . So far it's running fine, longer than it ever has on the linux box....

The BIOS is same as EVGA bios so it was easy to mess with it...

Now it's running 855/1702/1716 90-100 mn/mx fan and crossing my fingers...

8-)

Everything running sweet now...

Thanks for the tip!! Fast clock and slower mem did it..

8-)

PS: I do notice the Linux version seems to use a lot more CPU time or else it just reports more...

LOL!

Well, blowing air on it isn't an option... but I get your point.

I'll try to figure out something...

Thanks!

Are you talking about the GPU memory speed or the motherboard memory speed?

I can't do anything with GPU clocks under Linux... not even with all the fancy CoolBit things and such... seems all the tricks work only with old kernals and old Linux versions...

I can't get this 1.07 Genefer (cuda32_13) to run on a stock clocked Linux 11.10 box. Can you please give a hint what may be wrong?

This box has a 1055T and GTX580 Nvidia stock 772MHz card in it and runs everything else fine; PG-PPS, Einstein, GPUGRID, Donate, DistrRTgen, SETI all run fine...

Some failed WU's for computer 293560:

PS: Just replaced G-Skill DRAM with Corsair to see if any difference...

I started getting failures the other day as well... tried it again and get this:

Seems something is wrong for sure... (-177) every time

Okay, as a test, I tried in on another machine and it does exactly the same thing no matter what drivers I use... both these machines been running fine about a year and suddenly can't run primegrid WU's???

Don't think it's my systems at fault now... both systems dedicated BOINC crunchers, one with a pair of GTX460's and one with a pair of 9800 GT cards... both same problem... doesn't matter what drivers..
