1) Message boards : Prime Sierpinski Problem : WU's completed, marked as invalid. 0 credit. (Message 118319)

Sorry...6700k. Skylake processor.

Got it running at base speeds now and as soon as lightroom gets done processing I will download prime95 and get to stress testing some overclocks.

How much extra wear would you, in your opinion, say that running LLR 24/7 puts on a processor/motherboard? Lets say normal lifespan of 5 years... we talking half that ?

thanks!

Noob question: Does rainbow brutal apply to all LLR programs or just PSP LLR?

Because if it is all LLRs then I think that since I have gotten gold on 321, esp, gcw, pps and sob and been running my computer at a slight overclock with stock voltages 24/7 for 3 mo's of LLR was more stressing of the system than I thought. However I also didn't start getting errors till PSP LLR was going.

I was pretty cavalier about the LLR program and running 24/7 in the background while also doing photo editing and other cpu intensive tasks which I should maybe now understand why was getting errors....

Have a I7-6800K @ 4.5mhz with stock voltage that is water cooled. 16gb ram at stock timings.

Thank you for the very fast reply!

Obviously not what I wanted to hear but I will have some diagnosing to do.

I just switched from SDD to a m.2 drive for my primary HDD around the time the issues first popped up. I did a copy and not a clean install. Bad I know. Also overclock but watercooling keeps the temps under 70c. I will check the bios, drivers and turn the clock down some.

Thanks!

Question as I am working my way through all the projects trying to get a gold badge as my OCD has kicked in.

Of the 31 WUs I have crunched on PSP. 1 Error, 6 Completed, marked as invalid. 9 Completed, validation inconclusive 10 Completed, waiting for validation and 1 Completed and validated 1st. Of all the other projects, none have had this high of a rate of invalid or error WU's, is that something with PSP or me?

Also what does Completed, validation inconclusive mean? I have never seen that result before. How does the Completed, marked as invalid work as well? Given that each WU takes about 2 days 12 hours to complete that is a lot of wasted computing power for the invalid and inconclusive units. Any tips to minimize this going forward?

Thanks!

Very small sample size so far but previously with 8 cores and HT turned on. I was running on 75% cores so 6 threads at once with a range of completion times from 177,000 sec of runtime to a high of 203,000 seconds or roughly 6 WUs returned every 2d4-5h...

Now with HT turned off running 3 cores been averaging 90,000 seconds to 109,000 seconds of runtime or 3 WUs getting done roughly every 22 hours. Thank you for the tips and heres to happy crunching!

Thanks
Jon

Thank you all so much for the quick replies. I am really liking this project thus far. Keep up all the great work and I will play around with turning hyper threading off and 50% to see how that effects the other programs I need for work.
Best

Not sure if this is where this should go but averaging roughly 2 days per WU. I6700K with hyperthreading. Thought someone might find that useful. I am really new to SOB and PrimeGrid though so may be doing it all wrong.
