1) Message boards : Number crunching : GTX 590 (Message 36771)

I have a GTX 590 air cooled card on order. Should be here sometime this week or early next week.

It'll be going into a dedicated cruncher working 24/7 running PPS Sieve.
I bought this card specifically for this project, It'll a single card setup and
I'll be posting some results when they come in.

Indeed, my webserver has crashed and I'm on vacation - 350 miles away. Not back until Sunday. I managed to redirect temporarily at least..

Walked a non tech friend through a hard reboot remotely but no effect :(

My DB server should still be running ok, it's much more resilient. The webserver needs a rebuild anyway..

Well drat!...I'm having withdrawals, oh the pain, the pain. I want my SETI.USA forum back!! Gimmie gimmie gimmie!!
3) Message boards : Problems and Help : Project compatible GPU list? (Message 33074)

One word says it all......"Sweet!"

Somehow I feel as though I've actually accomplished something.

Thanks guys, I'm quite sure many will find this information useful. I know I do.

@Scott, thanks for the list, it should be made a "sticky" at least as this is useful information.

I see in the list, "All Tesla". Is there anyone actually running Tesla cards on this project?.

If so, would you be kind enough to post some performance results?

Is there a list of compatible GPU cards for this project?

If not, shouldn't we start one?

Might be nice and helpful :)

Here, I'll start....

EVGA 9800GT-SC (super clock) Old school, but works.
6) Message boards : Number crunching : Okay okay, here's a question..... (Message 32180)

Thanks again guys. I've discovered though this method works very well,
I've come up with another question related to the first.

Ideally, I'd like my system to work like this:

All 3 cards crunch all the time when the system is not "In Use".
When "In Use", only GPU 0 goes to sleep. GPU 1 and 2 still crunching.

This would allow all three cards to crunch (which helps keep my average up)
yet free up my display GPU without having to use "exclusive_app", which kills
everything on all three cards or "ignore_gpu" which kills everything on the display card.

Seems like this should be doable somehow. If it's not possible now, they should
make it so it is. :)

Thanks for the quick response. I found this to work exactly as desired:

Thanks again,

I'm currently running 3 9800gt's on an EVGA i790 MB and all three cards are crunching PrimeGrid WUs.

This computer is also the main computer I use for everything else. I use it as my entertainment and gaming center.

Because of this, I have to put MW to sleep if I intend to use Media Center or do anything at that's graphics intensive in nature.

I'd rather not have to do this whenever I plan to do just "typical" stuff and so I bring this question....

Is there a way to configure my system such that PrimeGrid WUs only run on the two 9800gt's that are not connected to my display thus leaving my display card to run normally while the other two cards run WUs in the background?
