The server seems to be overloaded with something: Server load 185.90, 225.13, 228.08 (typically all the numbers are around 1-2-3).
2) Message boards : Problems and Help : Unexpected invalid result (Message 137900)
Posted 102 days ago by pyajve
Dear fellow crunchers,

One of my computers last night unexpectedly returned an invalid result (meaning double-checker and triple-checker matched while I'm not).
Few prior and further tasks have been validated successfully.
I know this computer previously had a few bad results but the reasons for those have been identified and cleared (naturally, by removing the dust).

The problematic work unit is https://www.primegrid.com/workunit.php?wuid=643799923

Neither blue-screen nor windows updates-caused restart were the case, so I'm wondering what's this time.

While guessings about possible reasons are welcome, I'd like to have the additional verification.
Is it possible to name the number that was tested in that work unit? If so, is it possible to send that number to a fourth computer (preferably, to one of my other two)? I can run a manual LLR on that number and provide the residue to remove any uncertainty about my initial result.

Thank you.
Kind regards, Andrei.
3) Message boards : Problems and Help : Missing those 500K GFN21 seconds (Message 135396)
Posted 171 days ago by pyajve
Was running two GFN-21 tasks: on the CPU (https://www.primegrid.com/result.php?resultid=1042083057) and on the GPU (https://www.primegrid.com/result.php?resultid=1042374359).
A BSOD happened.
The GPU task then continued and verified successfully while the CPU one continued but was stated to be invalid.

Looking for a general advice on what I should have done in this case.

Also wondering if CPU and GPU implementations have different "restart from last good checkpoint" approaches and if there are any command-line options to control the behavior.

Home page shows 393 primes and so does the https://www.primegrid.com/primes/primes.php one. It seems we're even closer to 400 MP.

It would be nice to have an option to "use app_config settings" (or an explanation text next to new web controls) for those who wish to continue using app_config and not the new mt-controlling interface. With this setting the server would not send anything extra to the client, like today, and the client will solely rely on local configs. Thank you.

10) Message boards : Problems and Help : Helping with a challenge cleanup (Message 125475)
Posted 486 days ago by pyajve
Suppose one wants to help with a challenge cleanup, but stay focused on some other subproject. If they select a challenge subproject, chances are they do not get exactly 'cleanup tasks' for many reasons.
Is there a way to only receive challenge cleanup tasks and if there is nothing eligible for a particular computer, do not get a non-cleanup ones?
If not, is it worth implementing a setting similar to 'Send work from other projects...' specifically for cleanup assistance?
