Must be time to do some prime number crunching - thanks for the newsletter pointing out the new message space.

So, saying Steve is rich because he worked hard to get to #1 in boinc doesn't make sense. Yes, he has a high electric bill, and a few thousand dollars of hardware, but so what.

I have money in the bank, some computers and can spend on my other hobbies that are more expensive than boinc. I could choose to rent a farm of computers, but that's not (as was mentioned at least once, but not much) in the spirit of the competition.

Interestingly, the Sicituradastra. team, to me, doesn't consist of a bunch of wealthy people, but some who happen to be a bit more serious about making the most of what they have, whether it is one computer or several. However, we are rich because we operate as a team, and work together as it suits us as individuals and like the community that we've created. Some people understand that, others might not.

Definitely a big thanks to Team Ukraine - made for a nice tense eight days. Obvious that there was a lot of effort up and down the scoring sheets.

Similar to other comments, not especially happy with the efforts from yesterday. Projects appear not to know the force of the CPU/GPU community when they turn their magnifying glass onto a challenge (with a blue dwarf on the other side).

Still, I'll keep crunching PG and others - but maybe I'll actively avoid challenge projects in the future.

But Team work with prevail!

You make it seem like there is no team work in what Team Norway is doing in the challenge... We've mobilized a lot of our crunchers for this challenge. That one participant outproduces the rest, doesn't make it any less of a team effort! :)

It's been a fun challenge for us so far and I'd like to thank you for letting us have the first place for half the challenge. I'd only wish it was the second half of the challenge! ;D

Keep on crunching!

Team Norway

Team Norway have done a great job, competing at the top of the leader board - gives the other modest sized teams something to watch and work on.

Challenge Update

We are currently sieving at an unheard of rate of approximately 617T per day and it's increasing!!! The depth is currently approaching 5P. It is possible that we could reach 7P by the end of the Challenge!!! Prime search history is being made with this raw sieving power. Thanks!

EDIT: The Challenge started around 2.6P. To see if we reach 7P, you can follow progress here: The Riesel Problem (Sieve) - Range statistics

Dumb question or not, but I haven't seen this reference before. 2.6P to 7P range. What does this refer to?

Hi, found an answer across in QMC.

Basically it is a problem with boinc manager and the work is gone because the apps screwed up rather than something I did.

I've been running some SoB units and returned llr_sob_47465400 yesterday after about 400 hours CPU time. However, I was playing with my boinc setup a few days ago and primegrid thinks I'm detached.

Is this something that will sort itself out in a few days, or is the result gone?
