Here are some settings for my hosts that work pretty darn well, chiefly balanced for GPU power usage, CPU % usage, and desktop usability. I noticed that making various wild changes often didn't produce very different WU results, but radically changed GPU usage and CPU usage. Lower threads+medium blocks seems to be a winning strategy (at least for Nvidia).

GTX 980ti (@1350MHz):
Threads=4, Blocks=3072, ~15.6Mp/sec, ~16s/WU, 15% CPU (SB-E 6c/12t)

GTX 580 (@772MHz):
Threads=2, Blocks=3072, ~7Mp/sec, ~36s/WU, 33% CPU (Ivy i5 4c)

I'll add more when I have more GPUs available.


Thanks for the tip! I've got the GTX 980 Ti as well, along with a 3930K. With these settings, the average time per WU is just under 17 seconds (99% load)

I've been doing a few Primorial PSA units, but I haven't been seeing any PSA credit showing on my account.


Have you checked if you have been granted credit? Visible under Completed Reservations.

Iain, I copied over an older prpclient.exe and started the run. I noticed the current download package has wwwwcl.exe and wwwwcl64.exe but no wwwwcl32.exe

I tried the wwwwcl.exe and it tells me I have a missing .dll

Not sure what I did wrong.

Did you check that Visual Studio 2010 and 2012 redistributable are installed? If you don't have these, the program will not run.

I re-installed Windows 7 and got fsievecl64 and wwwwcl64 working again, so there might be some compatibility issue with Win8.

Now that everything is working, can we use fsievecl64 within PRPnet or does it need manual assignment?!

I'm using the 64-bit version of 2.1.8. So, that's currently the latest version. Just got another crash after 4 succesfull units, on stock speeds of the GPU.
It seems to crash right at the start, when I see the message: ''Hi, welcome...''


Thats very bad. rogue need to look into this problem.


One question, which version was included in the prpnet package 5.0.8. and was it of the same size (272kb) as the new version?

I redownloaded the 2.1.8. version and overrode the one in the 5.0.8. package I downloaded from boinc confederation. Seems that was a lower version, no crashes so far. I feel stupid if true :)


Correct, our PRPnet package includes an older version. I will update this later. Nice to see its running fine :)


It's indeed looking very good. Performance is about 34M p/s. Does that look ok for a GTX570 or should I change something about the nthreads= and blocks= setting?
