The validation backlog is growing rapidly.
2) Message boards : Number crunching : PrimeGrid's new server (again) (Message 68723)

Yeah, I dropped ~2.3M PG credits on Free-DC, which sounds like about a week's worth of work for my GPU. A similar thing happened recently when climateprediction brought up thier new server. and the credit rollback sorted itself out within a few hours. (Though CPDN has ongoing issues with their crons, and new credits still aren't being applied even on their own site.) That doesn't look to be the case here.

Thanks to all involved for their hard work.
3) Message boards : Number crunching : PrimeGrid Database Crash (Message 68041)

Yep, it isn't often I see my project & total scores rolled back by ~64K. But c'est la guerre.

Another symptom: I received a block of PPS (Sieve) resends of "lost" WUs that I had already returned. These had to be suspect, so I dumped them too. Hopefully they find their way back into the pool.

Many thanks to those involved in the quick recovery of what must have been a hideous mess.

4) Message boards : News : Server Upgraded, GPU/CPU bug fixed (Message 64650)

I have disabled the "don't use DCF" feature in the new server. This should, in theory, allow DCF to be used the way it was previously.

It's working.

Ditto here; estimated times are coming down & work reserves are going up :)

I'm not sure if this is a client problem or not.

Since updating to the new plan classes, all (cudaPPSieve) WUs coming into my host have an estimated time to completion of 07:38:08, and appear to be "stuck" at that figure, which sounds suspiciously like the ETC for a CPU rather than GPU task. My actual processing time on a GTX 580 is in the neighborhood of 12.5~13 minutes. After 24 hours at that rate, I would expect to see the ETC figure decrementing toward reality, but nope, still 07:38:08.

The result is that, to get any kind of cushion against server outage, I have to crank the min/max work buffer parameters way up -- something I don't like to do.

I've seen this sort of thing before on another (CPU) project, but I can't for the life of me remember what the solution was.

. . . received today, timestamped 10:36 PST. To wit:

"This project doesn't support computers of type windows_x86_64"

That would be disheartening news to a great many users ;)

The good news is that the server made it through the Challenge & the end of the Mayan calendar OK--unlike my debit card, which literally became invalid in the wee hours of Friday morning: and the bank's computer center could neither see a reason why, nor could they reactivate it. Ho Ho Ho.

Interesting, since (at least at the time of my original post) the home page showed typical amounts of work available (~2K WUs) for both. 4K=0? :D
9) Message boards : Number crunching : Validator backlog (Message 60733)

It's growing. I've had nothing validated since ~08:00 UTC. Could someone wake the daemons up please ;)

Do we have any update on this problem? I've had 2 tasks validated since 0700 UTC, with (currently) 73 backlogged--all with a quorum of one.

I do see many more WUs available for processing (which is discussed in another thread) :)
