Have you ever try to compute a gfn unit with a cpu? It works fine you know. I did 187th to geminids shower without any problem

I need it with 2 computers. Without app_config, I need to change the variable manually for each server request... We aren't talking about gfn15 unit anymore, but we maybe should too : the softfware's name is no llonger "boinc client" but "boinc manager". I think happy camping is all about dynamic

If anyone is still using an app_config.xml to control Multithreading settings, note that last year's cmdline parameters won't work anymore. The new genefer version uses -t (or --nthreads) instead of -nt for the number of threads, and will error out after 5 minutes with the old -nt switch.

Toslink is audiophonically lossless admited. So if the recording is done cd normal, the physical rendering is to consider cd normal too. That's what matters added to the fact that there can be no parasitic mass or electric arc generated by the protocol itself and other problems with soldering, phase inversion or things of that order. Which also means that you can put all sorts of analog things upstream of the digital source without dangerous potential contact with the preamp and the body of the amp section.
As long as the gateway is cared for as logic suggests without parasit latency or degradation compared, however floating it may be, to the eternal Origin reference of the cd before
to come down to the amp, then the"preamp" optical PCM gateway mission is fulfilled.
Here comes the interposition / interchangeability factors I was talking about.

Wouldn't a filter be an over-constraint while the amplification itself could potentially have as a way of evolution an enlargement of its working range?
I don't think I'm wrong in considering my question as purely rhetorical.
It's a nice unit. Does it exist in 19" rack element? I have the feeling it could be usefull in more ways than one...
I have (open) ideas about a neighboring design (live side) considering an aligned (dual) xlr and dual optical dac (like your design) backwards (analog) compatibility and triple leveling of interposition / interchangeability (3 rotary fader, one by input). The evolved way to consider the concept would draw the beginnings of a purely "active" digital mixing controlled by the fader
