RE: GFN-20; I'm on a WW kick for the time being.... Puts out less heat than hard core big GFN crunching. :-)

I see World Community Grid is moving to a new host in Toronto. Calls up the question as to whether IBM is having that rough a time in the world that they can't host something good for the world anymore? Is there a back story somewhere on this??

I saw that but I wasn't sure what that means...
Does it mean it's the biggest 321 prime found?

Yes, and 18th biggest prime ever found. ;)

Wow!!!! Super congrats!!!!!

Methinks Gfn20 will drop real soon. However Deletenull is owning that space right now. Fast cards.
Gfn21 has no point of reference to start. But 133000 tasks done and about 33% due as per Yves calculations is good enough for me 😉

Gfn22 is just a mystery but it may just drop before gfn21 who knows? 🤷‍♂️

All fun!!!

ahhhhh, I think I'll just keep playing with gfn 15,16,17mega. don't have any of the nice fast cards. Would sure like to buy some buy can't find any. :-(

We still be having high heat here, but at least it hasn't gone back over 110F so far. And the utility company is still whining about current draw. So just trying for a while to run a few systems on gfn-15 and see how that goes as hardly any heat it output that way. Temps are rising though this nest week. Just going to be a really rough August I'm afraid. But it is what it is. I hope everyone is doing well. I'm definitely looking forward to fall and cooler weather though.

I hear ya both on this one; pretty sweltering in this neck of the woods too. I've stopped CPU crunching on two rigs, have switched two GPU rigs over to GFN-15, which is about half the power of GFN-13, and am just about to start swapping parts around and moving the hottest rigs into my kitchen where I have a vent fan.

Got the same overtaxed-grid problems here too and peak hour rates are going a bit bonkers, so I'm looking at some of those BOINC settings for pausing crunching at certain times of the day. Fun times in BOINCtopia XD

Hope everyone is well otherwise :)

Oh ya, I've been swapping parts and removing parts. GPU wise about all I can run is 1050's and 1050ti's. In general the PG stuff works the cpu's too hard to stay out of the heat production. So I've about given up on PG crunching till the fall. I have a few cpu's crunching 1 or 2 Rosetta work units as they don't produce hardly any heat. Beyond that it's an uphill battle. Good to hear from you Kellen. We are over a hundred today, but at least it isn't 115-118. :-)

Well Mother Nature hasn't been too kind to us here as the heat has been pretty bad here. Over taxing the grid, and BPA bitching about loads.... In reality they just want to ship more juice to California and their electric cars...... of course our governor is working towards banning the sale of regular cars down the road and moving only to electric or hydrogen fuel cells. Meanwhile the infrastructure is no where ready for the added electric cars. And meanwhile the lunatics keep ragging on and on about tearing out the dams and nuke plants. No common sense at all about reality. So I've got all my gpu's shut down. They don't want us even running washing machines until after 9pm at night. But meanwhile the bitcoin crowd up in Wenatchee are sucking down the juice, Go figure.

Other than that things are just peachy keeno arounf here. :-) So I most likely won't get back to crunching until fall. And then we still don't have any new gpu's available.
