See here for the list of mega primes found: https://www.primegrid.com/forum_thread.php?id=9830

(and SR5 are mega)

nonetheless it's sad we can't use them on PG :/

? We can and do use them. You have to use an app_info.xml file to make it work for now.

The ARC GPUs do support DP, but in software emulation mode only. That means any DP transactions will be slower than on GPUs that have HW support. More info here:

For SR5, the 10% bonus is for conjecture, not long job.

CPU only? Preferences lets me also check GPU.

NM. I see my answer is in the OP. D'oh!

At the most basic level, you will need a Mac with an Intel processor. Any model will be able to run any of the CPU PG apps, and probably the GPU ones as well (depending on if a GPU is installed and the mystical drivers). The new M1 units and any iPad/iPhone won't work here for lack of platform support which may never come (an admin can comment on that, but I think they would say "lack of developers"), though personally, I am curious how well the ARM->x86 translator thingy would work on the highly optimized apps.

My M1 Mac mini works just fine. It is about the same speed as my 6 core intel Mac mini for the PG CPU apps, and uses way less power. Of course, the M1 does not run any of the GPU apps, and does not currently support eGPUs.

My prediction is 7.

I could be wrong, but I think DCF (duration correction factor) is a value that each machine develops, and it is applied to all projects. So it can ping-pong back and forth if one project has accurate run time estimates, and another project is way off. But it's been many years since I looked into it, and things may have changed in the mean time.

11 years. I found PrimeGrid when I was looking for a project with open source applications that I could port to the PS3. And I did just that with AP26!

Neat! PS3GRID (now GPUGRID) is why I bought a PS3 in 2007.

I joined PrimeGrid 30 Nov 2006.

Before that, SETI@home (pre-BOINC), and even after BOINC came on the scene, still not paying attention to these other start-up projects wasting their time not looking for aliens. =;^)
