Someone have an idea how 'my' app_info.xml file should look, that BOINC get new WUs from PrimeGrid?

The related part of the client_state.xml file:

I made a new app_info.xml file (now with all related infos from client_state.xml file):

This should work?


I could adjust the CUDA app with <cmdline> entries for to speed up the calculation on the GTX260?
Currently 'GPU Load' is continuously 99 %.
215 MB system RAM, 47 MB VRAM - usage.

My BOINC will crunch now ~ 2 weeks PPS (Sieve) WUs (1 time/day internet connection).

The estimated times for the NV GPU WUs are correct, ~ 54 minutes.
The estimated times for the CPU WUs are too high, ~ 8 1/2 days. They need ~ 24 hours to finish.

So I made an app_info.xml file (with entries of the client_state.xml) with changed flops entries for the CPU app...

The estimated times are fine now, but BOINC get now:

Requesting new tasks for CPU and NVIDIA
Scheduler request completed: got 0 new tasks
No work sent
Message from server: No work available for the applications you have selected. Please check your project preferences on the web site.


What's up?
I made the app_info.xml not correct?
The WUs in BOINC calculate fine.

E.g. SETI@home use:
<coproc> <type>CUDA</type> <count>1</count> </coproc>

I should use CUDA also here at PrimeGrid?

BTW. Is currently something wrong with the PrimeGrid scheduler server?
My BOINC (DEV-v7.0.52) asked for 10 days WUs.
Normally after ~ 40 WUs he get 'limit of tasks in progress'...
But today he D/Led WUs for ~ 8 days - then I pressed 'no new tasks'.
The deadline is 6 days, it's not possible to calculate all this WUs in 6 days!
Is BOINC not smart enough to see that he ask for too much WUs? - ...he can't calculate all this WUs before deadline!

That's also a reason for my app_info.xml file.
I set then WUs for 2 days - and in BOINC are really (CPU & NV GPU) WUs for 2 days (with correct estimated times).

Other projects e.g. Milkyway@home and SETI@home have OpenCL <plan_class>'s for their apps.

(opencl_nvidia_100)

AFAIK & IIRC, if (opencl_x) then at least BOINC v7.x needed.
For earlier BOINC versions (ati_x) and (cuda_x) additional needed.

AFAIK & IIRC, BOINC v7.x can detect if an OpenCL GPU and driver is installed.

The *Proth Prime Search (Sieve)* WUs last ..
~ 54 minutes on my NVIDIA GeForce GTX260 O/C GPU,
~ 24 hours on my Intel Core2 Duo E7600 CPU.

The CPU crunch now the 2nd & 3rd WU in his history and the estimated times are ~ 6 days.
The GPU crunched a few and the estimated times are ~ 51 minutes.

What is the *limit of tasks in progress* for the whole PC?
If I would enable CPU + GPU in the project preferences, they would crunch continuously 24/7, or then could be times that the CPU or the GPU have all the *limit of tasks in progress* WUs and the CPU or GPU idle?

In the online overview the first WUs are sent/downloaded at 18 Dec 2012 11:11:19 UTC .. ;-)

O.K., the challenge started for ~ 16 minutes. :-)

I hope the project have enough WUs created. ;-D

I have not much experiences with PrimeGrid ..

AFAIK, PrimeGrid have a *limit of tasks in progress* for GPU.

Is this *limit of tasks in progress* separately for CPU and GPU - or together for the whole PC?
