This question comes up rather regularly.

Oh o.O :D

Well - you're right; never forget the various idiots out there. :/

(Here is one ^^)

I was just thinking, (especially but not only) for these challenges not offered by PG, it might be a nice thing for the wingmans.... Okay, next time I think twice.. or better three times ^^

As whoever sais/said: Ask costs nothing, but time. Answering too :)

Hi everyone,

As, unfortunately, in a shorter time, one of my motherboards died.
So I wanted to ask if PG (for example) couldn't implement a button in the list of especially 'your Computers', on which the users could cancel outstanding work of such a broken PC, so thus packets could even faster push into the job-queue again?

(Maybe followed by a second button, for those of us, who dunno what they are doing ^^ -> 'This will drop all running workunits on these PC' -yes/no-
Something like that maybe. ;) )

Of course, this only makes sense if the implementation isn't exorbitantly lavish and only for those PCs, which will offline a longer time than...

thx for reading/answering

best regards,
Stargazer

Would you like fries with that?

:friendly winky:

With or without ketchup? :)

As long, as you won't come with fish'n'chips O.o :D

And now; Have a good night. :)

Incidentally we rats are enjoying our contest with you people. It is fun when it is a close run thing.

If u like it more closer, than your mates has to deactivate some cores; or better: spend Seti.Germany some CPU-time. :D

I think, your team is more involved in PG-challenges (or has just more 'highrollers') than we do. Pity, but at least its everyones own electricity bill.

Back to the 'no-namers'; Your nick (as example) has the normal standard-set of characters as the most char-sets should know: '<>~ and so on. Maybe some (don't know) chinese or thai-PG-member has some really, really special characters? I'm not that professional; but not all characters are part of ascii or at least interpretable sort of Fonts, the chinese/thai and so on may use ?!?

First from me is greetings to SETI Germany from AtP!

Secondly in addition to 'gazer's excellent question what about the users with no name and no team. How does that work?

Heyo :)

- and thanks that u 'translated' the quest. ^^
My english is just good enough to ask for the next McDonalds. :D

Only guess: maybe.. the nicknames use some characters, boinc or the database of PG can't handle?

The first and main thing from my side:

~Happy birthday PrimeGrid~

:)

The second thing is a question; Does someone recognized the many users with nick build of a 'ce', followed by a number? Any ideas, what happened there?

The increasing of these ce-Users are such with..... no name.... O.o

greetz, gazer :)

Links on Website

Hello everyone.

On topsite of primegrid.com, there is a section with headline
"About"

"PrimeGrid's primary goal is to bring the excitement of prime finding to the "everyday" computer user. By simply[...]. PrimeGrid is currently running several sub-projects:"

Followed by a list of SubProjects:

"
- 321 Prime Search: searching for mega primes of the form 3·2n±1.
- Cullen-Woodall Search: searching for mega primes of forms n·2n+1 and n·2n−1.
- Prime Sierpinski Project: helping Prime Sierpinski Project solve the prime Sierpinski Problem.
- Proth Prime Search: searching for primes of the form k·2n+1.
- Seventeen or Bust: helping to solve the Sierpinski Problem.
- Sierpinski/Riesel Base 5: helping to solve the Sierpinski/Riesel Base 5 Problem.
- Sophie Germain Prime Search: searching for primes p and 2p+1.
- The Riesel problem: helping to solve the Riesel Problem.
- Generalized Fermat Prime Search: searching for megaprimes of the form b2n+1.
"

Some of them with links, leading to wikipedia, some (4 of them) wants to lead into forum. But all Links, leading into Forum are wrong or old; don't know.

Example of line 229
Prime Sierpinski Project: helping Prime Sierpinski Project solve the prime Sierpinski Problem. [Link:http://primegrid.com/htt/forum_thread.php?id=972&nowrap=true#9502]
source code of Link: href="htt/forum_thread.php?id=972&nowrap=true#9502

The "htt/"-part inside the link is old/wrong/too much. Could you correct them?

thx :)

P.S.: If u was able to understand me, my english was not worse enough. ^^

Just to ask;

Comparing the stats between 17.15utc and 17.30utc, every workunit sendet in that time has been summarized and found his way into the stats-pages. Also my one and only GPU-wu it seems, was added.

Am I wrong? Or were the stats-pages "just 15min behind the time?"

At least; All of you: Have a nice Christmas and relaxed holidays. :)

*edit: Just had some trouble with UTC and CET. :D
