Radeon R9 Nano, no boinc tasks
(Message 95059)
Posted 1713 days ago by boinc3@cbit
When trying to fetch BOINC work for my R9 Nano, the log returns 0 new tasks. I have done some looking around and have seen people with AMD cards use an app_info file but haven't been able to understand it or get it to work. No longer have the app_info file i was using (tried doing this about 2 months ago).
Thanks in advance for any help.
Windows 10 64-bit
updated BOINC and GPU drivers

Radeon R9 Nano, not compute capable

Yea but the project list says it is compatible with AMD.
It may say that, but I never put the OpenCL code into the instructions page. And apparently nobody noticed until now. You can download all versions of tpsieve from http://www.primegrid.com/download/tpsieve-all.7z and the code you want is in the tpsieve-cl directory. I can't guarantee it will work, but the CUDA code certainly won't.
I'll see about getting links to the proper code into the instructions.
Edit: Do not use the code with "boinc" in the filename.
Thanks Jim!
Looks like it is working now, appreciate the link.

Just got a new AMD GPU (radeon R9 Nano), installed latest drivers.
When running the PPR12M project, i get the error in the screenshot above.
Running in Windows 10 64-bit.
PS: Also have issue in BOINC where it returns no tasks for AMD GPUs but does detect the card.
Thanks in advance for the help!

GPU computation cuts out
(Message 91421)

The card that seems to be having the error is a GTX 650 Ti Boost. The "boost" is likely the key. The maxerr that you are getting is often a symptom of overclocking. The "boost" in that particular card is an overclocking bump over a regular 650 Ti. You should try adjusting your clocks down just a bit and see if the card will not run stably then.
Thanks Scott,
Ill try lowering my clocks, hopefully this fixes it.

I have 2 nvidia based GPUs in my system. One of them works fine while the other, after about 6 minutes of running a tasks, just stops. The progress bar in BOINC stops and i have to abort the task every time. Cooling is not the issue, already checked that. And if the tasks are under 5 minutes each then they all process through fine. Running Win6 Pro, latest version of BOINC
