1) Message boards : Project Staging Area : LLR development version 3.8.7 is available! (Message 49567)

dl5sfk,

I asked Jean Penne about the problem. He responded here that he's unable to reproduce the error.

If you want to pursue this further, I suggest talking to Jean directly. Unfortunately, there's nothing more I'm able to do to help resolve your problem. If you decide to do that, I would suggest first trying Jean Penne's own 32-bit build of LLR 3.8.7, which can be downloaded HERE. That way you'll both know that the problem isn't caused by something I did building the software.

Good luck!

Michael Goetz, thank you for your investigation and help. I will test the original version from Jean Penne and eventually try to track the problem on my system.

An Zacate E350 is a dual core cpu from AMD with 1,6 GHz clock, an integrated gpu on chip and a tdp of 18 watts. Its not fast, but enough for a home computer. I didn't mention my original post in

http://www.primegrid.com/forum_thread.php?id=3350&nowrap=true#48082

sorry for that. The stock llr test doesn't run in version 3.8.6 and 3.8.7. BUT the avxllr version DOES run and the E350 has no avx built in.

So you're getting the same error with the 32 bit version, right?

Yes, that is right.

Tested the 64 bit version with Win7 on an E350 processor.

llr Test>cllr -q"3117*2^314958+1" -d
Fatal error at setup : Number sent to gwsetup is too large for the FFTs to handle.

side note: the llr version supplied with the prpclient 5.0.5 produces the same error.

Do your computer have any CPU with AVX ?

Lennart

its an E350 from AMD, so no avx. The mainboard is called "ZOTAC FUSION-ITX WiFi A-series". The avx version of the llr test is running without problems while the other is failing immediately.

Rogue, i tried PFGW with numbers from ppselow port and there where no problems.
BTW, the new version of llr supplied with the prpclient 5.0.5 is still failing with the same error message while llravx is working.

Rogue, thanks for the hint with the avx version! I tried the avx version from the prpclient 5.0.4 package and it seems to be working. If it runs stable i will try PFGW.

Thanks again, Andy

I tried the llr.exe supplied with prpclient 5.0.4 and prpclient 4.3.5. Both failed when running with numbers supplied by ppselow. Manual testing:

llr -q"805*2^100002+1"

failed with the error message:
Fatal error at setup : Number sent to gwsetup is too large for the FFTs to handle.

but running

llr -q"805*2^90000+1"

succeeded
805*2^90000+1 is not prime. Proth RES64: DE75259FE72D2DA3 Time : 50.654 sec.

Any ideas?

Andy

Hello all,

i tried to install the client for prpnet in version 5.0.4 on Win7 64 bit and tried to run some ppselow tests. The cpu is a E350 and it didn't run as it should. The errors where like this:

[2012-01-29 11:06:04 MZ] PPSElow2: PRPNet server is version 4.3.6
Hi Wellcome to PrimeGrid prpserver PPSE Low n server
Fatal error at setup : Number sent to gwsetup is too large for the FFTs to handl
e.
[2012-01-29 11:06:05 MZ] PPSElow2: Test results not found in file [lresults.txt]
. Assuming user stopped with ^C

The prpnet folder was excluded form the antivirus software. Any hints what i am missing?

Thanks Andy
