This is for WAP phones. Anybody here remember what WAP is? (or may be, ugh, even used it? :))

It's absolutely useless in 2019.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wireless_Application_Protocol

A WAP browser is a web browser for mobile devices such as mobile phones that uses the protocol. Introduced with much hype in 1999.

From University of New South Wales: “Maths whiz solves 48-year-old multiplication problem”

A UNSW Sydney mathematician has cracked a maths problem that has stood for almost half a century which will enable computers to multiply huge numbers together much more quickly.

... “More technically, we have proved a 1971 conjecture of Schönhage and Strassen about the complexity of integer multiplication,” Professor Harvey says.

From a related article ... Canadian case is another warning about the murky world of cryptocurrency

Crypto losers of millions want help from organized authorities. They should get it.

This quote best sums it up:
...But with crypto, says Gerard, this is the world we are in.

"Cyrpto is amateur hour, it really is," said Gerard, who in his day job is a Unix systems administrator studying software to keep the bad stuff out of his network.

Is this the same as Options -> Computing preferences -> Store at least 0 days of work?

YES

Also, what is the exact time the challenge will start? Just Feb 1 12:00am on my local time?

THE 2019 Tour de Primes Challenge starts at 00:00 UTC (Universal Coordinate Time) aka used to be called G.M.T. "Greenwich Mean Time".

There is a countdown timer on the front page to show you when it will start.
Time until Tour de Primes challenge:

321 Sieve is going to reopen soon:
If I get 10 expressions of interest I'll take this idea further.

Personally I think the sieve will get a lot of support from badge hunters and doesn't need a challenge to improve throughput.
Would be something to have in the 2020 Challenge Series.

Add me to list for interest in the 321 sieve.

I think this is related to the original posting:

Mathematicians Discovered a Computer Problem that No One Can Ever Solve

Mathematicians have discovered a problem they cannot solve. It's not that they're not smart enough; there simply is no answer.

The problem has to do with machine learning — the type of artificial-intelligence models some computers use to "learn" how to do a specific task.

... Gödel and Cohen showed that it's impossible to prove that the continuum hypothesis is right, but also it's impossible to prove that it's wrong. "Is the continuum hypothesis true?" is a question without an answer.

In a paper published Monday, Jan. 7, in the journal Nature Machine Intelligence, the researchers showed that EMX is inextricably linked to the continuum hypothesis.

At least now I know who's been calling from that number over the last while.

If the caller ID Number is not blocked you can go to 800notes.com to see if any on else has posted about it or try doing a www search for the number.

I get on average 3 to 5 "junk/spam" just on my land line and one or two such calls on my cell# every day.

My general rule is if the caller is not in my contact list, I do not answer and let voicemail take it if they even let it ring that long. Most of them only let it ring 4 or 5 times before hanging up. My voicemail is set for 6 rings.

I use a free call blocking service provided by my telco on my land line called NomoRobo.com that blocks over 99% of these junk callers. Works great!
