Thanks, nevertheless, for your feedback!

//phrotexe=./phrot

Commenting out this line solved the problem.

Many thanks for your time here! I did spend significant time with the documentation, but unlike you I was unable to synthesize a bird's eye view of it.

I'm eager to take your suggestions for a spin, but I'm struggling with the "Could not determine version of phrot being used. Missing version data" problem" right now.

I'll post back if I resolve it.

Thanks again.

Is there a straightforward way to have prpclient run exactly two tasks, and then quit? (Without having to modify the config file over and over.)

Thanks. Good to know that I'm not doing something wrong, at least.

It would seem like a BOINC issue they should attend to at some point.

On a related note, I'd like to play around with the "Resource share" column (tab) in the BOINC "Advanced view" to see how the projects/BOINC behave when I change their resource share. (At least I'm under the impression that this can be done?) However, I seem to be unable to do it. How is it done?

I was hoping you could help me with the following problem.

Windows 10 box, 2 Nvidia 1070.

I use my two GPUs for Einstein@home.

I would like to use my CPU cores (ideally 4 out of 8 hyperthreads) for PrimeGrid.

Turns out Einstein@home uses one GPU and one CPU hyperthread per graphics card. Thus, 2 CPU hyperthreads remain for PrimeGrid.

However, BOINC fails to see this, and thinks that 4 CPU hyperthreads are available to PrimeGrid. Well, they are not, and BOINC ends up having to crunch the two first CPU tasks, keeping the other two CPU tasks on ice until the two first tasks are completed.

And when the two first tasks are completed, it switches over to the two tasks on ice *AND* requests two new CPU tasks – just to put them on ice immediately.

Obviously, having PrimeGrid tasks on ice for a couple of days is not ideal.

Is there a way around this? (Am I doing something wrong, or am I interpreting things incorrectly?)

Trying to reinstall the driver a couple of times, and after a couple of reboots, did not help.

But removing all Nvidia stuff manually, and then doing a clean driver reinstall seems to have done the trick.

Guess I should have anticipated that, in hindsight.

>On nvidia drivers with creators update, there is no problem.
>If you do have a problem, reinstall the driver should fix it.
> MS often breaks it during upgrade.

Say what? All I'm getting is:

"NVIDIA installation cannot proceed.

This driver is not compatible with your version of Windows."

I also did the new Win 10 Creator's Upgrade (by accident).

Found out that the Nvidia drivers (even the latest one, downloaded today (980Ti)) are not compatible with the Creator's Upgrade.

So I guess I just wait for a couple of days, until a new driver becomes available? Or how have you dealt with it?

(Sorry that I caused nearly 500 "Error" work units. Happened when I slept.)

Recently ran my first GFN21 and 22 tasks on my GTX 980 Ti:

GFN22 - Run time (sec): 187,099.15 - CPU time (sec): 658.23 - Genefer 22 v3.13 (OCLcudaGFNWR)

GFN21 - 95,441.37 - 289.42 - Genefer 21 v3.13 (OCLcudaGFN)
GFN21 - 96,064.81 - 293.05 - Genefer 21 v3.13 (OCLcudaGFN)

Nothing else than BOINC was running on the computer.
