I have been looking around but still doubt

For example ...

Should I go for a ATI card with a lot of streamprocessors (example 1200) or a Nvidia with (650 CUDA cores). which i find for about the same price ?

Thanx for the quick respons guys,

Normaly indeed the T-3500 PS is strong enough to cope with some Graphics card.

My budget is around € 130 - € 150.

The site i mostley buy my things on is: http://www.hardwareversand.de/en/43/Graphics+Cards.search

So i dunno what to take best for that budget.

Greets!

Hello guys,

As a relative new cruncher i just got my hands on a Dell T-3500 with a Xeon quad W3530 2.8GHZ and 8gb of ram inside.

It runs on a

I wanted to do some GFN-short task to with this machine. Altough it got a FX Quadro 1800 with only 64 Cuda Cores, i best need a new Graphics card. Since I dont want it to be too High-end and expensive i was wondering which one some more experienced crunchers would advise? :)

Any suggestions ?

Interesting. Given that Piledriver only uses 50% floating point speed, you likely should run LLR and or the CPU version of Genefer on 4 cores rather than all 8. Both programs are nearly 100% floating point, and since you'll get better cache hit ratios with fewer instances, it's likely that total throughput will be increased when running only 50% of the cores. In other words, if you run LLR on 8 cores, I would expect each task to take more than twice as long as each task would take if you're running 4 cores.

Real eager to test that in the near future ! ^^

Since Yesterday, 2 of my 3 computers are showing the problems too ... without any changes being made. Just suddenly ...

One is an Intel - I3 running on Windows 8.0. Normaly he run's 4 tasks at a time, now only 2 and before those to start to run, some 6-8 bounce on the 3 second error :(.

The other is an AuthenticAMD
AMD E-300 APU with Radeon(tm) HD Graphics [Family 20 Model 2 Stepping 0]
(2 processoren) with XP SP3. Showing some irregularity

My AuthenticAMD
AMD FX(tm)-8350 Eight-Core Processor [Family 21 Model 2 Stepping 0]
(8 processoren) is still running fine though

Any real fixes yet please ? :)
