TRP is also there and just waiting on the double checkers.
321-llr is in progress now, but PPS-llr will be next.

That's great with the performance improvement!

For the GPU tasks you can use the PrimeGrid Preferences page and unselect the GPU projects and the use GPU option so that your GPUs sit idle in times like the challenge.

A bold prediction: A large or special prime will be found during this challenge. However, it will not be a TRP prime.
Please elaborate... :)

It's a bit of a running joke here where during challenges we have found large primes that are not related to the challenge. For example we might find a GFN18 or GFN19 prime during a PSP challenge.

Buckeye4lf: What combination of tasks and threads per task to run would depend on what the CCX/CCD layout of your threadripper is. Which TR CPU is it again?

In the mean time I'll be doing updates on my i5 and i7 systems tonight. The Ryzen is already paused until some time in August.

App_config.xml should override the website settings. However, it might be a good idea to move your main machine to a different venue if you want to run it in a different way from the other machines.

What are you trying to accomplish with the GPU apps in the app_config?
The only time I'm aware of that GPU tasks need to be accounted for in app_config is when you are trying to run multiple GPU tasks at once on the same card. If you are trying to run a single task on a single card in a multi-card system then you need to exclude the other card(s) in cc_config.xml. Otherwise the default behaviour is to run one task at a time on a card.
In app_info.xml you do have to include all apps you want to run, but in app_config. you do not. Apps not included in app_config will still run based upon site and BOINC manager settings.

<max_concurrent>1</max_concurrent>

I'm not sure that line is needed either. If you have a 4 core/8 thread computer and you want to make sure you're using the cores then you can set the "Use at most X% of the CPUs" to 50%. That, combined with your <cmdline> and <avg_ncpus> will force one task at a time to be run.
Are you trying to run Primegrid and non-Primegrid tasks at the same time?
10) Message boards : Number crunching : GTX 1030 good card for GFN? (Message 141530)
Posted 31 days ago by KeithProject donor
I have a GT1030 here that I bought mostly just to be a backup card for my main computer if its card died so I could at least still use the computer.
For challenges I haul it out to give a little boost in the standings (sometimes it gets me 1-2 spots ahead), but otherwise I don't use it unless it's winter and there's a next badge nearby.

It was quite decent for its power draw when it first came out, but that was 3 years ago and things have moved on. These days you're right about the 1070's 1st rate and the 1070 is about 4x faster than the 1030 in pretty much everything PG related. I have a 1070ti (a little faster than a regular 1070) and am getting about a 62% 1st rate on GFN17-Mega. I also have a 1050ti running, which is directly between a 1030 and a 1070ti in performance, that is running around a 56% 1st rate. However, the 1030 would likely fall off into the 20's to 30's at best.
Keep in mind that these rates are highly variable depending on whether someone concentrates a datacenter worth of GPUs on a project or not.

Unlike other used or lower cost cards a 1030 will crunch every type of project here. AP requires 2GB of VRAM. You can use a 1.5GB card, but I think that required some app_info.xml trickery to get going. So if you plan on running AP get a card with 2GB of VRAM or larger.
