i5-2500K @ 4.3ghz at 1.292V vcore
Msi P67A-GD65 Mobo
Thermalright Ultra 120 air cooler
averages around 58C when running AVX apps

I will get the i7-2600K later but it runs a lot hotter.

Seventeen days in and no primes in sight.

It can only get better...

Can it???

I am going to throw some stats out.

since running PG, and for PPS LLR Only

I have crunched 239,563 wu's. Of these, it has found 44 primes (both as primary and as double checker).

this averages out to crunching 5,445 wu's before I find a prime.

factor in that on all other sub projects, I have never found a prime, this number skyrockets.

now, take that you are running a single dual core cpu, it is going to take a long time to find a prime.

and if you are wondering, I have ran as little as 4 cores to as many as 36 cores at a time on PG.

8) Message boards : Number crunching : Idea to eliminate PPS(sieve) for CPU (Message 48882)
Posted 2809 days ago by Profile nutcase
ok, I am a little confused here.

why do you worry about a wingman on PPS Sieve as it only requires a quorum of 1?

it should only require another computer if the Validation was Inconclusive.

just asking

What he means is that he has a wingman on a different project with a quorum of 2, but those wingman don't get to the quorum=2 tasks very quickly because they're doing PPS sieve tasks that take forever and then some.

ok, now that makes sense.

since I have over 400 wu's pending anyway, I never worry about that
