1) Message boards : Sieving : Manual Sieve GPU question (Message 90987)
Posted 1169 days ago by S@NL - JBG
Thanks.. Dave

Have done this..

1st bat file > GFNSvCUDA-0_7-win32.exe 16 9658 9659 d0
2nd bat file > GFNSvCUDA-0_7-win32.exe 16 9661 9662 d1

Works now nicely with both GPU's @100% with a max teperature between 57 - 59 dgrC
Both does run there task in aprox. 1h50m
2) Message boards : Sieving : Manual Sieve GPU question (Message 90978)
Posted 1169 days ago by S@NL - JBG
My grafic card is a GeForce 690 GTX, this card has 2 seperate GPU's onboard

My question:
What need i to add to the bat file line off text so that i can run 2 bat files at same time.
So that i can do 2 Manual Sieving files in the same time frame..
Example: 1st Bat file list crunch on 1st GPU and the 2nd bat file list on the 2nd GPU.

1st bat file: GFNSvCUDA-0_7-win32.exe 16 9658 9659
2st bat file: GFNSvCUDA-0_7-win32.exe 16 9661 9662

As a test iam now running these 2 bat files at same time, but i see that ONLY 1 GPU is been in use for this...

Temperature 1st GPU 0 = @ 60 dgrC = 100% use
Temperature 2nd GPU 1 = @ 29 dgrC = 0% use

Note:
I do not have to worry about the temperature getting to high, becouse iam using the program TThrottle (http://efmer.com/b/)
With this program you can set a max temp, and the programm do the rest to keep your GPU under that pre set temp.
Works like a charm..

My system info..

CPU: AuthenticAMD AMD Phenom(tm) II X4 810 Processor [Family 16 Model 4 Stepping 2] (4 processors)
GPU: [2] NVIDIA GeForce GTX 690 (2048MB) driver: 31106
OS: Microsoft Windows Vista Home Premium x64 Edition, Service Pack 2, (06.00.6002.00)

I have been running PPS sieve for 2 months (24/7) now on my GPU card.
In total 8 tasks at once (4 per GPU) (0,596C+0,25NV).. the time per task is approx. 50 minutes.
Sofar i have gained ~4,9M credits / week with PPS Sieve

4) Message boards : Problems and Help : GPU question about option (Message 64019)

i did find something out while reading the forum on Milkyway

when your using Boinc manager 7.0.40
you get a new option file named "app_config.xml"
make a file named app_config.xml, put it in the project directory, and restart boinc

I have test this out.. and its working..
I can now crunch 8 WUs from PPS_Sieve at once on my grafic card

Perhaps does this also works for the others..

<app_config>
<app>
<name>pps_sr2sieve</name>
<gpu_versions>
<gpu_usage>0.25</gpu_usage>
<cpu_usage>0.596</cpu_usage>
</gpu_versions>
</app>
</app_config>

Add this to your client_config.xml file:
<exclude_gpu> <url>www.primegrid.com</url> <device_num>1</device_num> </exclude_gpu>

Replicate the code for your other projects with device 0.
Boinc will use device 0 for primegrid only and device 1 for other projects.
Restart boinc after editing or go to tools, read local config.file.

Thanks for the quick response
6) Message boards : Problems and Help : GPU question about option (Message 63992)

addon:
Is there a option to setup that the pps_sr2sieve ONLY does use 1 GPU core,
instead of the default of ALL..

So that i can use the other GPU for my other cuda tasks

Is it possible to in PrimeGrid to set the <count> .. </count> option lower then 1

I only use my GPU with PrimeGrid calculation

GPU: NVidia GeForce GTX 690 (d0 and d1)
Driver: ForceWare 306.97 / Vista64

PrimeGrid 2.04 Genefer (cuda32_13) genefer_1048576_209025_2 00:18:10 (00:02:38) 14.51 1.938 15:12:00 18d,23:37:04 0.602C + 1NV (d1)

At the same time is GPU (d0) calculating for
- Collatz Conjecture 3.17 mini_collatz (cuda50) / 0.011C + 0.25NV (d0)
- SETI@home 6.10 setiathome_enhanced (cuda_fermi) / 0.04C + 0.25NV (d0)
- SETI@home 6.10 setiathome_enhanced (cuda_fermi) / 0.04C + 0.25NV (d0)
- SETI@home 6.04 astropulse_v6 (cuda_opencl_100) / 0.04C + 0.25NV (d0)

I would love to be able to use also multi task for the (d1) GPU when its working on PrimeGrid

How must i set this up for only:
> Proth Prime Search (Sieve)
> Generalized Fermat Prime Search (short and long tasks)

I know i have to add a app_info.xml in the PrimeGrid directory...
but what are the lines off text i have to put in there for the crunch programm ??
