1) Message boards : AP26 - AP27 Search : Which BOINC version for Solaris 2009.06 / AP26 app (Message 16744)

Yes, I used the same commands (export LD_LIBRARY_PATH=/opt/boinc/lib:$LD_LIBRARY_PATH and ./boinc >> ./boinc.log 2>&1 &) like you and now it is working...
The first tasks already uploaded and validated - http://www.primegrid.com/results.php?hostid=115814&offset=0&show_names=0&state=3 :)

Hmmm... That's really strange... But it's also working now on my Computer. :)
Thanks for taking the time to help me!

Well... Either I'm way to dumb for this or I did something wrong... ;)

Here's what I did-
Completeley removed the old BOINC from /export/home/stefan/.
Opened a Terminal and became root with su - root.
Then
cp boinc_6.2.19_... /opt cd /opt sh boinc_6.2.19_...
.
After that
root@opensolaris-server:~# cd /opt/BOINC/ root@opensolaris-server:/opt/BOINC# ./boinc >> ./boinc.log 2>&1 & root@opensolaris-server:/opt/BOINC# ./boinccmd --project_attach http://www.primegrid.com/ AUTH

(Yes I used my Authenticator, not AUTH ;) )

Had a look in the boinc.log and saw -

Normally I start BOINC with my normal user account like I did with Linux, but today I tried a few things but still no luck...

First I tried to run BOINC as root just to try if it would work, but I still got the SIGSEGV: segmentation violation error.
Then I also took over the ownership of the whole BOINC dir with
root@opensolaris-server:/export/home/stefan# chown -RvH stefan:staff BOINC
and changed permissions with
root@opensolaris-server:/export/home/stefan# chmod -Rv 777 BOINC
and started the BOINC client with user stefan again, but I still get the SIGSEGV: segmentation violation error if I try to run a PrimeGrid task with BOINC...

Sorry If I'm annoying but I just installed OpenSolaris yesterday and don't have much experience yet. I only know a few little things about Linux because I used it for some months on my server, but still don't know that much about it...

But if you could tell my what information you need and how to get it I should be able to do it. ;-)

PS.: If it matters - I have BOINC in the /export/home/stefan/ dir and start it only with ./boinc --daemon.

Actually I copied the client_state files, account files and the projects dir from Dotsch's client to yours and then deleted his clients directory... And I don't have a app_info.xml in the /projects/www.primegrid.com directory.
But now I deleted the whole BOINC directory and just started from scratch. Used your .sh file to install the client, newly attached to PrimeGrid and got one new task.
Unfortunately it errored out again with 0 seconds CPU time -

Running the primegrid_ap26 app in standalone mode seems to work. I got this output and it is still running -

Thanks for sharing!
But I still get only computation errors... :(

ldd for boinc gives -

so I guess there aren't any missing libraries?

ldd for the AP26 app shows -

stefan@opensolaris-server:~/BOINC/projects/www.primegrid.com$ ldd primegrid_ap26_1.00_x86_64-pc-solaris
libstdc++.so.6 => /usr/lib/64/libstdc++.so.6

libc.so.1 => /lib/64/libc.so.1

But all tasks are failing with -

<core_client_version>6.2.19</core_client_version>
<![CDATA[
<message>
process exited with code 193 (0xc1, -63)
</message>
]]>

This time I also noticed a msg in BOINC about segmentation violation -

But actually I don't know what to do with this info...
Anyway, thanks to all who already tried to help. Maybe someone has an idea what could be wrong?

Thank you! That would be great!
Would you mind sharing your client with me in the meantime? Can't wait to see this box crunching again... ;-)

Thanks pschofer! That worked and I got 178 tasks! :)
But unfortunately they all errored out with -

<core_client_version>6.2.19</core_client_version>
<![CDATA[
<message>
process exited with code 193 (0xc1, -63)
</message>
]]>

ldd shows -

stefan@opensolaris-server:~/boinc/projects/www.primegrid.com$ ldd primegrid_ap26_1.00_x86_64-pc-solaris
libstdc++.so.6 => /usr/sfw/lib/64/libstdc++.so.6
libpthread.so.1 => /lib/64/libpthread.so.1
libm.so.2 => /lib/64/libm.so.2
libc.so.1 => /lib/64/libc.so.1
libgcc_s.so.1 => /usr/sfw/lib/64/libgcc_s.so.1

So I should have all necessary libraries...
I'm a little bit lost what to do now... :(

Thanks for your help! Unfortunately it didn't work... When I restart the client I get -

opensolaris-server --- 10.07.2009 22:26:11 Platform changed from x86_64-pc-solaris to i386-pc-solaris

Any other ideas?

It may be a dumb question, but which BOINC version do I need for Solaris 2009.06 on a dual Quad Xeon E5345? I installed 6.2.19 from dotsch.de, but the client reports itself as i386-pc-solaris, so I don't get work from PrimeGrid because there's only an application for x86_64-pc-solaris...

Just in case it helps, here's the output of the boinc client after startup -
