Woohoo I found my first prime ever! And it is… I am double checker. F@@X!

Now after Robish was that much hyped I looked at Robish's Badges... What the? TdP 2019 has just started yesterday and Robish ALREADY found a prime? Put him into the Lucky Project. 2 Tasks, world record prime done.

For everyone thinking about WUprop-hours being miscalculated.

with no cc_config but following app_config it seems the hours get reported correctly:

<app> <name>llrSOB</name> <fraction_done_exact/> <max_concurrent>1</max_concurrent> </app> <app_version> <app_name>llrSOB</app_name> <cmdline>-t 8</cmdline> <avg_ncpus>8</avg_ncpus> <max_ncpus>8</max_ncpus> </app_version>

That is for a usage of 8 cores, and a single instance of SOB. Runtime ~31 Hours on a ryzen 1800x (reporting ~250 Hours on wuprop). seems the Thing is you have to tell BOINC how much cores it uses for WUPROP to properly read runtimes.

Saaad news, saad news for my GPUs.
I tried what I said: Using Milkyway as a test object for double precision.

Here's what I got.
For my sweet ATI 7670:

Found 1 platform
Platform 0 information:
Name: AMD Accelerated Parallel Processing
Version: OpenCL 1.2 AMD-APP (1124.2)
Vendor: Advanced Micro Devices, Inc.
Extensions: cl_khr_icd cl_amd_event_callback cl_amd_offline_devices cl_khr_d3d10_sharing cl_khr_d3d11_sharing
Profile: FULL_PROFILE
Using device 0 on platform 0
Found 2 CL devices
Device 'Turks' (Advanced Micro Devices, Inc.:0x1002) (CL_DEVICE_TYPE_GPU)
Driver version: 1124.2 (VM)
Version: OpenCL 1.2 AMD-APP (1124.2)
Compute capability: 0.0
Max compute units: 6
Clock frequency: 800 Mhz
Global mem size: 1073741824
Local mem size: 32768
Max const buf size: 65536
Double extension: (none)
Device doesn't support double precision

And for my AMD A8-5500 APU:

Found 1 platform
Platform 0 information:
Name: AMD Accelerated Parallel Processing
Version: OpenCL 1.2 AMD-APP (1124.2)
Vendor: Advanced Micro Devices, Inc.
Extensions: cl_khr_icd cl_amd_event_callback cl_amd_offline_devices cl_khr_d3d10_sharing cl_khr_d3d11_sharing
Profile: FULL_PROFILE
Using device 1 on platform 0
Found 2 CL devices
Device 'Devastator' (Advanced Micro Devices, Inc.:0x1002) (CL_DEVICE_TYPE_GPU)
Board: AMD Radeon HD 7560D
Driver version: 1124.2 (VM)
Version: OpenCL 1.2 AMD-APP (1124.2)
Compute capability: 0.0
Max compute units: 4
Clock frequency: 800 Mhz
Global mem size: 536870912
Local mem size: 32768
Max const buf size: 65536
Double extension: cl_amd_fp64

But it fails miserably with error lines like

double-precision constant is represented as single-precision
constant because double is not enabled

You can put both on the NO DP graveyard....

I have an idea - would " I can run Milkyway-OCL which also need DP on this GPU/APU" be an indicator that I can also run genefer-OCL?
Their runtimes are much shorter and could be used as an indicator, and in their forums is a long list of supported GPUs...

Maybe you can also ask them for information ^.^

Will I be able to somehow see it when I use a non-DP GPU?

Or is it then just producing "garbage" which does not validate against other results?

I am not sure if my APU and my GPU is DP capable as wikipedia is not very clear on that.

Greetings, =Lupus=

Can't find the thread priority in task manager... But its the base priority that is on "normal".
It should run on "lower"... Maybe this is also called "below normal", as I am re-translating from german to english. In german "Niedriger als Normal".
I don't mind the WU taking longer - I only use 3 of 4 cores on my CPU because of overheating, so the GPU task may have part of my 4th core... As it does in milky or GPUgrid or did on AP26 ^.^

Found the nasty GUI-slowing "bug":

For EVERY other project, all project's executables run at LOWER or LOWEST priority, so that anything (win-aero, winamp, mediaplayer etc.) should get the power they want. (yes even the other gpu-apps are on lowprio)

This is the only application running on NORMAL priority, so it shares the same priority with all other apps. And because it is very very gpu-hungry, everything else gets crappy.

I tested it out by manually setting task priority to lowest in task manager - after that all works fine ^.^

Edit: OK windows aero is a little bit "unresponsive" after prio change, but that only means app is working good. With pps-sieve on normal level it slowed even the other cpu-apps that much down that my computer was 10°C cooler -.-

Edit2: OK OK after rereading the threat I realized you were discussing another kind of slowdown... But what I found is responsible for slowdowns for anyone only using BOINC.
9) Message boards : Number crunching : Time on Woodall WU\'s (Message 6873)
Posted 4763 days ago by =Lupus=
My last WU's on AMD64-3500

TPS 6 Minutes
Cullen 6 Hours
Woodall 11 Hours

So your 16 hours+ is not bad, maybe you have a WU with a high number.
