Was having plenty of troubles but suddenly at around 20k workunits I found two more :)

Congrats! That email is strangely hilarious though.

Still waiting for number 2 after almost 90k workunits but it could be worse.

edit: Nevermind! Only had 23k workunits done lol so it isn't so bad. According to the Subproject status page the ratio is about 17k WU for 1 prime found for the latest range.

Well, I guess I'm out of the race!

Just got this one in: 113.105.840.787*2^1290000-1 is a prime!

It took only about 14k workunits...

And I thought I was having a bad time with 12.2k WUs done and no luck.

It seems that I'm hot on your tails...time will tell how it turns out. I'm not changing projects until I find one.

Is there a specific reason for testing only at 1,29M?

It is my work computer that has HT on and I'm hesitant to fiddle with it since it isn't my own.

On the brighter side it is also the one who does my manual CUDA sieve.

Looking forward to this project.

Going to take a break on PPS and switch my 2 W7 x64 hosts over to this.

Getting good decent times on it, around 2165 seconds on my first 4 tasks (3,3ghz, quad core with HT on).

Will see how it is on the other host (3,8ghz, quad core HT off) later this day.

51k workunits done at the time of this post - with 3 primes found.

I just changed over to Ubuntu 12.04 and I seem to be getting the same kind of errors.

Anyone know what to do?

I had a similar issue when I upgraded to 12.04. All my llr wu's would error out immediately ...

It turned out that the boinc version (7.0.24) that ships with 12.04 has a bug. If you look at the Ubunutu forums there is a lengthy discussion about it... It also affects Seti and other Boinc projects.

The easiest fix for me was to upgrade the boinc client to 7.0.27. You can do that by either manually downloading the boinc packages from the quantal repository (http://packages.ubuntu.com/) or by editing the /etc/apt/sources.list file. Just replace "precise" with "quantal" run "apt-get update" and
"apt-get install xyz" install the boinc packages with their respective dependencies from the quantal tree. You can switch back to precise (12.04) after you updated boinc.

hope this helps.

This worked! After many many attempts me and my friend finally managed to make it work!

Thanks for the help.
