1) Message boards : Prime Sierpinski Problem : Double Check WU's (Message 35722)
Posted 2916 days ago by ltd
What proportion of first-pass WUs are being done by PG (given that they are already DC'd) versus the main PSP project?

Sorry had no time to extract the numbers from the DB so far. Will try latest this weekend to come back with an answer to your question.

Thing is that the gap between first pass and second pass is getting quite large again.
All K were DC tested to around 6M so far with some k tested somewhat higher.
Leading edge for fisrt pass is above 11M.
Now we want to bring all k to 8M in DC.

k=79817 2271 tests
k=152267 1411 tests
k=156511 917 tests
k=168451 1592 tests
k=222113 4196 tests
k=225931 1978 tests
k=237019 2438 tests

Thats quite strange.
1. There are no tests below 6M left that need a DC check.
2. I did not send any new DC ranges to primegrid

My guess would be a DB issue that reactivated some already finished(archived) tests.

I get the following error when trying to download PSP sieve work.

31-Jul-2008 06:34:41 [PrimeGrid] Started download of psp_sr2sieve_20080827.sieveinput
31-Jul-2008 06:34:42 [PrimeGrid] Giving up on download of psp_sr2sieve_20080827.sieveinput: file not found

And as the WU that the client really wanted to download have a high resend counter I am not the only one with that problem.

31-Jul-2008 06:34:41 [PrimeGrid] Started download of psp_sr2sieve_7668507_cmd
31-Jul-2008 06:34:42 [PrimeGrid] Giving up on download of psp_sr2sieve_20080827.sieveinput: file not found
31-Jul-2008 06:34:42 [PrimeGrid] Finished download of psp_sr2sieve_7668507_cmd

This crash direct at the start .

About the PSP chart I posted.

It only shows the sieve submission. But you found the error in the chart. I forgot to change the texts when I originaly created it out of an llrnet chart.

Late but better then never.

Congratulations also from my side

I would think that it is more a combination of high access volume and the number of rows.

The main tables from PSP and SR5 project are all far bigger then 1.3M rows but the DB has two advantages. The first one is that there are small interface tables that handle the communication to the outside world. ( I think at primegrid the 1.3 M tables are already the small interfaces ;) )
For the second "advantage" there are not that many users so the simultanious hit rate is much lower.
10) Message boards : Problems and Help : The range? (Message 7877)

On psp sieve, what is the range we have reserved?
I can't figure out about that range.

A continuous block from 1.5-1.7P (total 0.2P)
-A continuous block from 1.82-2P (total 0.18P)
-A continuous block from 2.001-4.503P (total 2.502P)
-A continuous block from 4.504-4.506P (total 0.002P)
-A continuous block from 4.507-9.007P (total 4.5P)
-A continuous block from 9.008 to 9.99999P (total 0.99199P)

At least that was the information from 22.10 when it was still possible to look at the automatic reservations.
