That made for a good laugh when I got home today....

Elapsed: 00:00:01

Sorry guys, but at this rate I doubt the unit with finish by June 2nd.

2) Message boards : General discussion : Why am I getting unrequested workunits? (Message 39332)

Yes/Yes/No...

My problem is not having the computation errors... it is that I am getting the workunits, technically, against my will.
3) Message boards : Number crunching : Silly question: Why do all my primes have the same decimal count? (Message 39328)
Posted 3270 days ago by Lorien
It seems statistically unlikely that I can find so many primes with the same digit count. Can someone explain what I am missing?

20595784502415*2^666666-1 200700 (decimal)
4259531067225*2^666668-1 200700 (decimal)
16157499999375*2^666666-1 200700 (decimal)
13108300342245*2^666666-1 200700 (decimal)
519471899625*2^666670-1 200700 (decimal)
1420741926945*2^666670-1 200700 (decimal)
10080702744705*2^666667-1 200700 (decimal)

ps- i do have some other doublechecker primes with different counts

From my settings:

Proth Prime Search (Sieve): disabled
Send work from any subproject if selected projects have no work: no

So why am I getting these? (plus.. they all result in computation errors)
5) Message boards : Number crunching : I ordered PPS LLR, not PPS Sieve! (Message 33479)

Please read my posting in the thread Separate preferences for CPU/GPU for each subproject.

I can read that post over and over, it does not change the fact that I am getting projects that are specifically disabled, and with NO to send any project setting.

I just tested this again. I am still getting Sieves (and sieves only) even though I have those off, and "no" to getting no-work-available workunits.

I have tried changing settings and resetting them, then forcing a preference update, but I am still getting workunits for projects I do not want or have selected. This is a problem because every pps_sieve I get results in a computation error.

I am suspending primegrid until this gets fixed.
8) Message boards : Problems and Help : Primegrid projects not stopping (Message 24260)

Today's update:

At this time the Boinc manager has NO primegrid tasks active, and one Riesel Problem task ready to start (no time done on it).

In the Windows Task manager I see:
llr_5.09 with 0 CPU
sr2sieve_1.8.10 with 0 CPU
and...
FOUR llr_5.13, two at 25% and two constantly changing from 8-24%.

Currently Boinc manager is running one Seti and two World Community tasks (using 3 of the 4 processors as allowed by my preferences) and these three are in the Win Task Manager, running at most 12% as I watched over a few minutes.

It is still happening, so here is my info:
Windows Vista 64bit
AMD Phenom II X4 955 processor
Boinc manager 6.10.56, using local setting, run based on preferences, setting to use 75% of the processors, leave applications in memory is unchecked, on Boinc manager exit it is set to stop doing tasks.

In my Boinc manager I have one Primegrid ready to report, one Primegrid ready to start (no time spent on it yet), both are PPS LLR 5.11. I have three other projects currently running.

In my Windows Task manager I have three(3) primegrid_llr_5.13_windows_intelx86.exe *32's running with all three CPU charges running between 12 and 25%. The other three projects are also running, but not using more than 12% of CPU.

I do not like something that is not supposed to be there using up a significant portion of my resources, making other projects use a fraction of what they should. Unless a solution is found I will have to stop Primegrid crunching.

The manager should have an option somewhere to "stop science applications" when you close the manager.

Correct, that is my current setting, the box is checked.

Today my manager showed three Primegrid tasks (of which one was active), but my Windows Manager showed six actively running, and one at 0% CPU time (after closing the boinc manager)

I was running .18, so I will try and upgrade to .56 now.
