I will suggest, even if you go for the passive card, it'll benefit greatly from any airflow at all. So ideally your case will have some where the card would fit.

Oh yes, I've got a tower case with front>back and top airflow, I'm not starting a silent build. my current case will do, 3 of its 4 fans (2 back, one top) have been replaced by Noctuas, and I might replace the CPU cooler with a Noctua one too, as that has become noisy with slight vibration.

I was basically wondering whether it was "stupid" to get such a card, because on paper it seems such a powerful choice for something which doesn't make any noise. For the record, I have a Corsair AX760 power supply, so any power needs will be automatically taken care of - I just don't want the noise of additional fans.

I'm thinking of getting this little baby. What do you think? As you might hae assumed, I am going with a silent card; I'm aware that for £200 I could get a bit more power, but a lot more noise.

It's got a Turing core... I can't really go wrong, can I? Genuine question, I've not kept up-to-date with PG hardware matters lately, and reviews of graphics cards obviously tend to focus on gaming, which I couldn't care less about. Any problems/slowdowns with GFN?

Edit: I wrote this whilst Scott was posting.

I echo what Rick said about understanding rules, but also tolerance, considering the real-life stuff we all go through. I hope in the long-run this can all be forgotten. I have no idea what happened between Michael and Tim though, so I have to plead ignorant with that one. I thought it would be quite hard to offend Tim, though.

But the last word should be that we can, should, (and have all been able to) get on with each other. Too much time is wasted on arguing, in general, in this lifetime. That's all very easy for me to say, having not been part of this argument; but with time, let's try.

I'm in on this challenge - just waiting for a Cullen to finish. I should have planned ahead, I want to concentrate on eliminating Ks. I was 100% on PSP until fairly recently when I hit the horrible green colour, which whilst horrible, does indicate quite a bit of CPU work. Hopefully the challenge and cleanup will mean I can accellerate it to the nicer blue like my SoB.

Yes, I know the proper names, but it's funnier to call a double-bronze a "dirty nappy" and so on, isn't it?
