Mega Prime Discovery Frequency

I've noticed that there hasn't been a mega Prime discovered in a couple of months (at least my read suggests the last announcement was December 7, 2021). I'm curious if anyone has looked at the overall frequency of mega Prime discoveries. It would need to be normalized somehow by the amount of computing effort directed at a given problem (or problems).
Just curious if there's any sort of pattern, and I lack the mathematical chops to figure it out for myself. Thanks!

Those announcements used to be made for all mega primes, but now they are only made for primes which are large enough to be one of the 100 largest known primes -- ss http://www.primegrid.com/forum_thread.php?id=7698
Primes that large require a tremendous amount of eff0ort to find. We simply just don't have enouh computing power here to establish a pattern.

As tng suggests, we find megaprimes so often now that an "ordinary" megaprime is no longer worth formally announcing. You can see a reverse-chronological list here, and a related forum thread here.
I guess tng was too modest to tell you that he has already discovered eleven(!!) megaprimes this month all by himself!

To put the previous comments in perspective, we've found four mega primes so far today, and the day isn't over yet.
EDIT: To round it out, we've found 58 mega primes in the first 19 days of February, and 98 mega primes so far in 2022.

Thanks for the clarification. Much appreciated. Glad to hear that discoveries are ongoing.
