Several recent PPS-Mega tasks I downloaded took 2mins to complete and awarded 9 credits. They normally take ~2hrs on my CPU. I was wondering what the reason for this might be.

They're proof tasks, also known as fast double-checks. These were introduced in Pavel Atnashev's LLR2 software; see here for more information.
