I just spotted something interesting. Is the server carefully selecting who gets workunits? I have two genefer 22 tasks waiting to be verified, I notice they've failed on nvidia cards, and they've now been sent out to the same person on the same computer with the same model of AMD card as me. What's even stranger is they were sent out an hour or two before I finished. Is the last trickle up from me telling the server to find someone with the same card?

Are you sure? It's a huge coincidence for both of my tasks, returned at completely different times, to go to the same user. There must be thousands of users it could have gone to.

Having said that I made an error in my original post. One of them was from a different computer of mine, so wasn't the same card.

There are never thousands of users on GFN22. We're only going through ~35 successful tasks a day at the moment. The Boinc scheduler is random. The only thing it checks is that you aren't your own wingman.

Is GFN22 something most people avoid?[1] I do seem to get a lot of them, having allowed my computers to get anything at the server's choice. I've set most of my GPUs[2] to do any GPU project, and all my CPUs to do any project which cannot be run on a GPU.

[1]You would think it would be popular due to the long task points bonus.

[2] One of my GPUs crashes if running any prime other than AP27, or if running Einstein. It can run Milkyway, Collatz, and your AP27 just fine though. I also can't run more than one task at a time for any project, or it crashes. It is about a 7 year old Radeon R9 280X, faulty when I got it 2nd hand, but I don't care, I just set it to do what it can do. It's in semi retirement I guess.

Depends what you're after. If it's credits, being the last one means you get the credits instantly. If it's badges, it makes no difference. You only need to be first if you want to have your name against a prime number.
