Is the machineid relevant?

The directions say that the machineid=clientID and it is assumed that the clientID will be set to the same as the Boinc computer name...but is it a requirement?
Basically I am wondering if the clientID is used behind the scenes to do some matchmaking. I believe that the userID and email are all that are needed to match my PRP work to my Boinc account. If the clientID is not used, can I set the clientID to anything I would like? And can I set different instances on the same physical machine to different clientIDs (but keeping the INSTANCE_ID as set up when first installed)?

Werinbert is not prime... or PRPnet keeps telling me so.

I believe if you have two prpclients running with the same machineid and instanceid, there could be an issue. Otherwise, machineid and instanceid don't matter. Just be sure the email and userID are valid, or you won't get PSA credit for it. | |

Machine ID is the machine name, and you can set it to whatever you like. If you're running more than one computer, and you find a prime, and we ask you for the details of the computer that found the prime, this is how you know which computer it is. We do not compare this to anything on boinc.
Instance ID is for multi-core computers (which, today, is all computers, but this was not true in the past), where you're running multiple instances of the PRPNet client on one computer, e.g., one instance per core. This identifies once instance of the client from another. If you use the normal setup script (e.g., 4-quad-install-prpclient.bat), this should be set for you and you should never need to change it.
For credit purposes, we need to match your PRPNet tasks to your BOINC ID. We do this by matching the email address in the PRPNet setup to the email address in your BOINC user account.
If you neglect to enter your email address in the PRPNet configuration file (especially if you also neglect to enter a user name!) we may not be able to figure out your BOINC account, and without an email address, we have no way to contact you. When this happens, no credit is awarded.
