With the release of LLR2, we are seeing a dramatic increase in the number of primes found by users that don't give permission to report them. To decrease the number of primes stuck waiting for permission to report that we never receive, we will still wait nineteen days for the first prime found by a user, but only seven days for subsequent primes before moving to the double checker or reporting as anonymous.
If you have primes reported to T5K through PrimeGrid already or have given permission to report and provided your name, this doesn't affect you. Otherwise, I strongly encourage you to change your PrimeGrid preferences to give permission.

Are these new prime finding users generally running older and/or slower machines that wouldn't have otherwise been likely to be first? Asking more out of curiosity than anything.
With LLR2, who does PG consider the double checker? (or am I misreading that part and they all get reported as anonymous if there is no response?)

This has nothing to do with being first, or how fast your computer is. People need to, at some point, give us permission to report primes on their behalf, or to do it themselves. They have 19 days to do that -- note that this is not computations, this is a person taking some action.

There's no double checkers when we use fast proofs. For now, that means some LLR2 projects, and in the future, Genefer.

As far as I understand, a prime reported as Anonymous Person(s) can later be changed to a named person. Of course that is a lot of extra work for the admins. But it still means it is not completely irreversible if a prime gets reported anonymously. /JeppeSN

Okay, so... Where / how do folks change the setting?
Is it not set by default to give permission, or asked during setup or something?
EDIT: Looks like it's on the Your Account page, under "Primegrid Preferences."
Mine is set to "Yes," FWIW. Don't know if by default or due to some action when setting things up originally a few years back? *Shrug*

You must set it to "Yes' AND also supply your real name. (That's a requirement of T5K's.)

Some areas of the world have privacy laws that do not allow you automatic publishing of your information. Since it is not allowed in one place, it is not allowed due to the impossibility to program it differently.

The following two possibilities are obvious:
a) The user agreed to any primes of his to be reported using his real name. PrimeGrid will report immediately then.
b) The user did not agree. PrimeGrid will report after the delay mentioned by Reggie.
But there is a 3rd possibility. This one is, AFAIK, nowhere documented, and it is entirely non-intuitive how to enable this third option:
c) The user wants anonymous reporting, and tells PrimeGrid so. PrimeGrid will report immediately then.
To activate this 3rd option, enter the following settings:
- "Permission is given to PrimeGrid to report primes under my name": yes
- "Report primes as (REAL first name and last name)": report anonymously
(Correct me if I'm wrong.)

You (xii5ku) have four reported primes (as "Initial finder") and none of them are reported in the wingman's name.
For example, the largest of them was double checked by dimus whose primes are reported under the real name Dmytro Volosovsky. Your method has prevented the double checker from getting his name there?

Saying something 100% obvious such as "GIVE TO DCER" or "report anonymously please" (both of which I believe I've seen) is acceptable, and is definitely preferable over being stuck waiting. I suppose our policy can be summed up as "follow the finder's wishes unless they ignore us, then the double checker's unless they ignore us, then anonymously" (with the time periods mentioned in the original post).

@JeppeSN, it is not "my" method.
I am contributing pseudonymously here, and in extension anonymously to T5K. The latter is primarily because T5K does not have the concept of pseudonymous records. (So I was told.)
