I installed a GTX 1660 with nvidia drivers 456.38 (this computer). The card shows up on PG's info site about the computer.
I enabled PPS SV for nvidia (and to make sure also AMD) tasks, but the computer won't fetch such tasks. I installed cuda toolkit 10 which didn't help.
Messages from PG server in boinc manager don't mention anything about fetching PPS Sv tasks, so apparently the computer isn't even requesting them. The tooltip of BOINC icon says "GPU will be suspended when computer is in use" so I think BOINC did recognize the GPU.
I am however able to run proth20, it detects the card and does calculations. It says "opencl cuda" though, does that mean it's using opencl?
Is there any way to get more information about what's wrong?

Did you tick the "use nvidia gpu" option at the top of the settings?

One way is to exit and then restart Boinc, then go to the Boinc Manager and look at the Event Log under Tools, scroll up near the top and it will tell you what it found about your gpu in a couple of lines.

Apparently restarting BOINC manager did the trick (halfway at least), now it's "requesting work for NVIDIA" but always says "0 new tasks".
I enabled GFN-17 (mega) to see if it's just PPS SV bug, but still 0 tasks.
Did you tick the "use nvidia gpu" option at the top of the settings? Yes, it's enabled.

and to ask another obvious question : is your host is in the location you're changing for gpu tasks? (ie default/home/work or whatever)

edit: I found the problem... as often, it was the user. :) I had max # of tasks set to 1 as I only wanted one LLR task to run. Unfortunately that included GPU tasks. A bit strange that BOINC still requests tasks, but I assume it doesn't know the settings locally.
Yes, it reacts to all other changes. Also the log says that BOINC is now trying to get nvidia GPU tasks, but the server doesn't send any.
I also enabled AP-27 now, still no new tasks.
Is it possible to see why the server won't send any work?

I see you've got a task now. What was the problem?
